To be fair to Haze there's not a whole lot more to add to MAME that can reasonably be expected to run at full speed. He does seem to be weirdly obsessed with plug n play TV-game and Dollar Store handheld slop, though. Imagine that being your life.

It's also why most of them are trannies. Because they were raised by gutter trash single mothers with no male influence. So they only ever learned how to act like women. Niggers without fathers grow up to die in police shootings, white autistic children grow up to be Nintendo fans with gender dysphoria.

It's just because I'm using VRR on a 120hz display. I'm sure it's fine if you vsync it to 60, which is effectively what setting an external frame limiter is doing. Dolphin's frame pacing just sucks unless there's something else locking it down, be it your monitor's vsync or a limiter. Play a sidescrolling shmup using a VRR monitor and you'll see it.

What a surprise, dolphin devs are retarded and scrap features because they answer every idiot asking stupid questions.
I swear, emu devs need to be flogged until they learn not to interact with the userbase.

Oh I remember this one. It's the tactical horror Lovecraft game. I saw a YouTube video years ago of some long haired freak pretending to be a woman talking about how it's some mysterious hidden gem from the far off Orient and of course it allegedly couldn't be emulated with primitive Western technology. I'm sure he or his friends weren't just trying to pump it on the second hand market. Seems to work fine though that background gradient is pretty bad.

CRT tech in general horizontally blurs. You could use a shittier cable but unless you mess with the TV's color way beyond standard those bars'll be there. It's just inherently a shitty gradient here. I'm the PS1 could do better, or they could have applied a composite mesh pattern.

I think that's it. What percentage of people were using top of the line TVs? Very few. Side note look at this absolute beast.

Men in Black - The Series - Crashdown (USA) 2025-06-14-21-45-46
If I worked in QA I think I'd blow my brains out. I choose to do this and it's a pain in the ass. I can't imagine doing the same thing for software I don't give a shit about. Men in Black - The Series - Crashdown (USA) has something wrong with its audio where sound effects get stuck playing forever after you kill enemies. But I have no idea how to reproduce it consistently other than it happens most of the time in level 3 on the second and third fish guys. I couldn't get it to happen in Mednafen.

I don't foresee Nintendo tapes plummeting that far, but yeah, eventually the fucks will dry up for them. Especially when even the must stalwart of collectards realize emulation is 99% as good, ODEs/flashcarts are 100% as good, and video game collecting for the "feelies" and decoration's sake is an embarrassing, hollow, and feminine hobby. Or their wives/gfs convince them of it. The ones that don't come to this will likely blast their brains all over them and their family will sell them off in a hurry. One way or another it's gotta pop.

No it isn't. At 1x, perhaps there's an argument, in HD you ideally don't want shaders. I don't think you're arguing in good faith anyway, so just go fuck yourself.

Shaders can be applied externally anyway. ShaderGlass, ReShade... surely others. It would be best for PGS to be the most feature complete app and RA+LRPS2 isn't that.

There is more of a chance PS2 getting librashaders merged into it than LRPS2 getting every peripheral and option PCSX2 has. LRPS2, like the guy said, is dead or at moving at a glacial pace.

Also, nothing 'needs' shaders. They are a nicety and ideal in some cases but the whole point of PGS is being to uprez or downsample without breaking things or depending on a stack of hacks, you third world mutant.

PCSX2 has been problem free for me for years now, but I'm having an issue with one particular game now.
>Was playing through the game regularly
>Died
>Set the "normal speed" to 200%
>Got caught up
>Made a save state and shut the game off for the night
Now the game is stuck like that, no matter what I set the normal speed to. Even if I boot the game normally and don't load a save state.
The only workaround I have found is to set it to fast-forward at 100%. Then it plays normally, and if I deactivate fast-forward, it ironically plays at 200% again.
Is this a common thing? How the hell do I fix this without re-installing it?

You should set the fast forward speed to 200%, then use the hotkey to toggle it whenever you want to do this. That's a workaround anyway. Seems wacky to change the normal speed to 200% instead of fast forwarding.

It ought to be, considering they curate the game list and should be applying hacks to make everything on it nearly perfect. I imagine if you started injecting games into it, it'd shit out and be nowhere near Dolphin. I wonder if it steals from Dolphin at all, considering no other public GC/Wii emu's is even close to it. I imagine the team they hired for the Mario 3D pack made a half-decent emu from scratch, though.

From what I've tracked of ciggy's tracking, Duckstation has most of the outlier flaws Mednafen has, with a few of its own. Just about all the 'big' PS1 emus perform similarly with a smattering of unique fixes and flaws. Like Duckstation will run Monkey Hero but Mednafen won't. Then there are games that don't correctly on absolutely everything like Kattobi Tune. No$ and Xebra play the Mad Stalker intro properly. I highly doubt this iSlop is any different. It's also based on PCSX-R which is on the lower end of emulation accuracy, but runs on almost anything.

Doesn't seem so in full screen, but you can enable integer scaling in the options which will give you clean nearest neighbor multiples, if you're worried about scaling blur. It'll scale your 2x up honestly without fucking with the render.

You could also do this by rendering to a separate window at 1x/2x or whatever and using an external full screen scaler too. Seems a little silly unless you really want a tiny window in black space, and it's doing the same job with more steps if you make it integer-scale.

Try one of these out. Not completely up-to-date but at least runs with most of the modern niceties, including integer scaling. One of those should work on 7. There are apparently ways to hex edit or drop a dxgi wrapper to make plain PCSX2 run in 7 but I don't have 7 around to test that at the moment. This seems easier.

Can sorta simulate the Activity Meter but it's annoying manually defining responses. It's also weird because the game disconnects regularly during communication and expects the device to reconnect. But if you do it too much it just infinitely loops the same requests.

Definitely would be better to emulate it. I think it runs on the same HW as the Pokewalker, so you could work off a pre-existing emulator. But the ROM for the thing just isn't available anywhere. Will probably pick one up some time since they're cheap and the method of dumping its ROM is easy.

I'm interested in getting these games to work one way or another. Stenzek just seems to do his own thing or whatever his discord kittens want, so I'd rather just know the workarounds. My problem is how this shit is annoying for everything. No, you can't use new stuffit on older stuff without issues.
Mounting toast images is a pain in the ass because every single program decides to cause microstutters/crashes if the toast actually has audio files for some reason.
It just means having to keep multiple os versions with multiple software and it is annoying.
As for games, descent has a ton of missing effects, especially when it comes to cloak.
I just feel that the hassle is not worth it when it comes to exclusives or interesting ports.

I wish there was a way to boot PS1 images from a thumb drive on a softmodded PS2. Before some smart guy responds, there is a way, but that just boots to the POPS emulator instead of using PS2's PS1 hardware. I wonder how much a PS1 with an ODE would set me back. I'm sure clumsily soldering it in like I'm building a bomb or some shit is lotsa fun; only done a couple soldering jobs. Burning CDs feels like such wasteful caveman shit.

It really isn't worth it from my experience. Mac emulation seems to be better for casual/2D/edutainment type stuff. Marathon had really janky mouse aiming when I last tried it too. It's a fun toy to get going just because classic MacOS is so strange, or perhaps nostalgic because a lot of school PCs had it. You have to *really* note what Mac generation the software you're trying calls for.

It's not that fucked up, just barely any reason to use it outside of ciggin'. As for why in this case, fuck if I know. I dunno if the bug is a memory, CPU, or CD-ROM issue. There are multiple emulatable versions of those games. The DS one can be done in DeSmuME and all the cards for that one are out there.

The card barcode is actually encrypted data specifying things like what type it is, which item of that type, etc. It should be possible to generate any missing code if someone cared to do so. I explored this option a bit when I was looking into the DS game but then found a site that had all supported codes. I did figure out enough to link the codes to specific cards, which helped in automating matching them to their pictures.

I swear each font looks good and 'nearest' aka 'pixelated' or 'crips' on real hardware (at least PSP 3004, I grew up with that model) but somehow on PPSSPP it looks like hammered shit. I'm a ESL faggot and I'm having a hard time trying to explain this autistic shit about PSP fonts and textures:
>linear:
Tiny letters lookin' bad, huge letters lookin' good
>nearest
Tiny letters lookin' good, huge letters lookin' bad
I swear on my mother's grave that both looks great on a fucking PSP: crisp and sharp at any fucking since of the font or whatever.

God damn this shit makes me aspering so fucking HARD.

I tried without the shader and it looks the same but shittier, I tried upscaling its internal resolution by 4 times and it doesn't look 'crisp' or 'sharp' and this bullshit has no downsampling as StenzekStation.

This piece of steamed garbages allows the final retard (me) to force texture filter but it only has cubic, hybrid and xBRZ but it has no fucking nearest neighbor, like, damn man, it makes 0 sense, it takes some brains and a healthy brain to develop a complex piece of software like an emulator; there's no fucking way the same faggots behind this project are that retarded to forget or omit an option to force nearest-neighbor like, man, PSP native resolution is 480 by 272, I geddit some morons would like to emulate in 4K or shit but touch some grass man PSP textures are low resolution, I bet most mofos emulate fucking PSP at native resolution.

Danny boy you are so lucky that I live in Europe or else I would fucking beat your ass so bad that you can't even imagine the horrors I would live if I was near to your virgin ass God damn I swear on God I want to punch you in the fucking throat so bad that I can't breath man. Fix your fucking shitty PPSSPP core man

In some cases, they use lua for translation, patching it with overlaid material on the fly, and it isn't an English ROM you can just throw into an emulator. In other cases they have it so encrypted or obtusely stored out the ass that extraction isn't so easy.
>>527957126
Why though? Why not advertise the trailer in some releases or put it in some easily accessible menu option? Why treat it like a cheat code anyway? Is this some sort of true believer test? I get that you want to hate devs and it's your ciggy schtick but several emulators that get it 95% right is better than we'll ever see for 6th gen+. It is a fault of the emulator that it isn't accessible like it is on consoles, though.

I'm just saying going for the throat with "incompetent", even though all you seem to do is play emulated PS1 games (a shocking amount of them to the credits), is just a little mean. Have you done a single thing in your adult life that would get a 95% grade, let alone emulate a console? I just think a certain amount of respect is due, even if emudevs are unlikable as a rule or may have slighted you. Some competence is required to have enjoyed PS1 emulation to the extent you have. Words have meaning.

You're right I should distinguish terms better. Incompetent is regressions like breaking the SCPH1000 BIOS or the health Bar in Gamera 2000. Or the OSD which has been fucked for over two weeks. Lazy is not bothering to emulate something as basic as a cheat code you can activate by holding L1. Disingenuous is crying poverty as an excuse to not add support for peripherals when you're a millionaire with a retro game selling business and own boxes of them.

Been suggesting as much if you really want someone to roll their sleeves up and do it. You'd be amazed how much home renovations and repairs cost these days, let alone software engineering on this level. Maybe my standards are low but I'm happy with what's available for free for PS1. It would be nice if devs listened and bothered to fix the issues you've found, but one can still have a good time between the many free and mostly-complete emus out there, and you can wish in one hand, etc etc. You've said yourself, it's very close to perfect or perceptably perfect, it's just they can't/won't do the last 3-5% to get there. That said I'm still curious about whatever all-emu or suspected all-emu issues you can find.

It's really kind of typical and shitty of the Japs to make a game so rushed and linked to hardware cycles like this. I know, it's an arcade game, it only has to run properly on that set of chips. It creates more work for them later when they have to add simulated delays to ports (which are often stuttery compared to the original) and I bet they've had issues with different runs of their hardware having ever-so-slightly different chips that are a little faster here, a little slower there.

Could be, considering not a single one of them emulates the BIOS correctly either. They've all got that echoing reverb garbage problem. The BIOS screen always ends either too early or too late depending on the game. The SCPH1000 in duckstation is a writeoff. It's broken graphically and according to several people randomly stops reading inputs in the menu. It's a mess across the board.

You should instead be minding your system temps, Event Viewer -> Windows Log -> Hardware, and fucking with your setup until it's fixed. There's gotta be a reason. I'd try new chipset/video drivers, setting conservative RAM values, running as few background apps as possible, and make sure your cooling system is working right first.

As for a direct answer: Neither Dolphin or Retroarch has this setting (hilariously hizzlekizzle dismissed this saying Rewind is sufficient; so RA DOES have this capability with all the save state manipulation it already does, he just WONTFIX it), but you can set up an AutoHotkey script to hit the save state button every x minutes, or download a program like Auto Keyboard Presser.

As long as you're not using some shitty iGPU like the Intel HD/UHD series, you should be fine.

No meaningful Switch emu progress as far as accuracy goes, it's mostly UI and performance tweaks.

Emudev autism/defiance and ability, honestly. I think freetard software can only get you so far. There's the ciggy-tier cases of stupid peripherals and long-standing edge cases not getting fixed on an otherwise well emulated system, sure, but I just don't see Xbox, 3DS, or any >=7th gen machine getting emulated properly. You can throw NEETs at a proprietary mystery box and only get so much, and I think the glass ceiling is 6th gen. Low spec users and Nintendo can be ignored, largely.

I say this of course, but the madmen in dresses got Bloodborne working. It may not be as magical as I'm making it out to be. Maybe they just made a really effective translator/compat layer rather than an emulator. Still, it's a marvel of NEET science in my eyes. Granted, it's pretty lousy for nearly every other PS4 game.

They're simple and unpretentious. You pick it up, you play and have fun, that's it. It's not a major commitment where you have to learn 50 different systems and in depth mechanics. The antithesis would be for example Resonance of Fate where the tutorial lasts 2 hours and no one has ever figured out how to play it correctly.

Sup fags. I know this isn't exactly the place to ask, but I've been trying to install custom firmware on an old PS3 I found with OFW 4.82. I've followed this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIVu3Px3eXY up to "Installing CFW" without issue, but when trying to apply the"CFW 4.92 Evilnat Cobra 8.5 [CEX]", it recognizes the firmware on the USB stick, but when I tell it to proceed with the installation, I immediately get Error 80029C55 "An error occured during the copy operation". I checked again, but the folder structure was correct, and the MD5 of the update file matches the provided MD5 in the download.
Here's the System Manager output from ps3toolset.
Anyone know how to fix this? Update the OFW and then try again?

There some sort of supersekrit discord or site that gets Switch dumps a bit earlier than the normie sites? Guess it doesn't matter as the system's about dead anyway. I just recall over the years some digital releases or literally-whos not showing up, but they'd have entries on Tinfoil and various repos. Hardware limitations are based. The same game would be at least 200mb if it made today by some idiot in Unity. They'd use digital recordings of the music instead of chiptunes, wildly overdraw, use needlessly bloated assets for the same results. It would probably have an uneven pixel grid with mixed resolution assets as a bonus.

A billion people already told the devs about the problems SMT games have but they just refuse to touch them for some reason, DeSU 1 has the intro problem for a decade now but IV and Apocalypse are still the worst ones because they have:
>transparency effect (fixed on ogl renderer only)
>random flicker in cutscenes
>bloom doesn't scale with resolution (if they're not gonna add a hack to make it scale they should at least bundle a optional cheat to do it or disable bloom entirely)

There are two VB games with the text "Feel Mie" in an unused portion of their ROMs? This appears to be a reference to a music album by Japanese pop singer Yumi Tanimura.

Which game are my brothers in Christ emulating today? I have been playing BAZARU DE GOZARU NO GAME DE GOZARU lmao it has such funny name, according to deepl it means 'The bazar game' hahahaha. It's a GameFreak game published by NEC for its PC Engine CD. It's about a little nigger monkey that needs $$$ to afford new furniture to his little house, I think it is called.... BAZARU DE GOZARU NO GAME DE GOZARU lmao because you spent you coin at the bazar.

Is fun, is the type of game to play with your son/daughter/niece/nephew. When you lose the game sings "Bazaruuu de gozaaaruu" and my niece shout it at the same rhythm, its such a silly fun game, highly recommended.

It's got an intel celeron n3350 and intel hd 500 graphics, tested ps2 games and that wasn't very successful. I have an Alienware 17 R3 (11yo gayming laptop), and yeah, it can run SotC at 1440p with no slowdowns but with the dGPU (GTX 970M). I doubt its iGPU (Intel UHD 530) could handle it. However, I have a Dell OptiPlex 3080 Micro, whose iGPU is a UHD 630, and it can run it at native resolution. I'm not quite sure about the performance gap between the 630 and the 530, or if the processor is the actual difference.

I doubt a current Android phone/tablet could run SotC. I would appreciate if any /emugen/ bro could let us know if even a phone could resulate SotC lmao

Got a YT link for that? I'd like to hear. Also, that's just what the PS1's supposed to do. It had the decoding hardware and storage to crank lots of FMV out, especially if you shit up the quality a bit. Not that the Pokemon FMV is special either. Rise of the Robots did that shit on SNES. The numbers all check out for each of these cases. RE2 is fairly special for compressing/decompressing that amount of FMV on the N64's meager processor and 64mb, though.

No, they're not the same. The PS1 skyline has green windows similar to the PC version. The N64 doesn't have one at all and looks more like a daytime scene. The vastly different architectures between machines in the 90s made ports (more like conversions, and often by different devs per system) very interesting.

Wow, you have to really try to find a processor that shitty anymore. I remember Dolphin and PCSX2 being dicey on a first gen laptop i5, which is a lot better than that. I'm curious to see if modern builds are faster or slower on ultra low-end hardware like that, or run at all.

What's more impressive is how much $50 will get you. I snagged a NUC7i5BNB w/ a 7th gen i5 that'll do 6th gen just fine and is more than adequate for comfortable usage. I connected a USB-C powered monitor to it and it's a great lil work jerk-off station.

If not, then maybe the same people did the ports on different consoles and used weird code, so that different emulator devs of different consoles don't know how to fix them?

I'm sure the mindset and flow was this: the original asset didn't fit in Sat memory or their engine (it's not the Build engine, it's the SlaveDriver/Powerslave one), they pulled some generic cityscape pic off the net or scanned one in, and in the process of converting it to a format suitable to the Saturn's hardware and their engine, it ended up looking like this. They then shrugged and decided tube/composite blur would trivialize it.

cont.
It's not a bug, it's just the way the asset is. All the respectable emus display it that way and several hardware vids (surely at least one of them has to be true) show it that way too. It would be truly bizarre for it to be the exact same fuckup on all setups, if it's a bug, but crazier things have happened. I'm erring it on it just being that way, though.

I feel like one crucial thing to keep in mind in 90s testing was the devs were flying by the seat of their pants and just barely turning in something that runs. Since it was ugly in the best of cases they probably let a lot of asset flubs ride. The hardware itself was barely able to render a stable 3D scene, even when used properly.

For your Wii, you'll want to get a convertor or more ideally a transcoder from component to RGB. Plenty out there. One collector had a tech come and work on some of his games. The unscrupulous tech copied the ROMS without permission. The game was not broken and not one he was supposed to "fix." The owner is reviewing a couple of months of security video to see if he can catch him in the act. This is the first time that someone has actually had the balls to steal ROMS from a collector.
