I'm making kusoge because I've never made a fighting game before and I know it won't be good. I'm not trying to make it bad, but I know my best effort will be at best mediocre. And I'm fine with that, it's not the first game I've EVER made. I said before I'd be emulating it off chaos code but in doing research there's a lot of mechanics from other fighting games I really like, and mashing them together is probably gonna end up in some jank. I like CC but I also like the Rev system and command overhead/AA in CotW. I like the animation style of -Strive-. I like the transformation system of Bloody Roar. But there's also things in those various games I don't like. Cutting and pasting things together will undoubtedly result in a mess, but I know I'll enjoy the process of making it, which it includes putting it in people's hands and having them tell me what they hate about it. That's just how this process works.

this has always felt like a slightly odd point to me? thing's got a much more distinctive boxing-inspired moveset and the like and could have elements of a big-bodied street brawler compared to hulk's more bestial nature - and while ms. marvel's whole deal is more about growing and shrinking parts of her body, reed's more about actively stretching himself (not to mention potential for random tech stuff)
like i do get the mindset behind not wanting overlap in concept but it's absolutely doable with a little creativity
