The problem is that Criterion Savage is incredibly dogshit design philosophy and Normal mode has literally zero rewards except for a pat on the back once you clear it, maybe gil if you really need an esoteric roundabout way to farm gil. There's just no reason for anyone to get involved in the ecosystem for it, it died instantly on release not because of its difficulty but because there was simply no reason for anyone who would have enjoyed it to touch it. Finding a group to do it with was harder than the content itself and so it just stays un-progged by most. Also give me one good reason they're able to add Savage upgrade materials to Alliance raid coins and Hunts but can't add it to Criterion's shop at the same time (hint: you can't).

Was honestly quite chill, I showed up to it very very late (maybe like 2 weeks before the current tier started) and progged the entire fight comfortably in PF without ever joining a Discord for it. People who say the content died right away are full of shit, though months later it is kind of dead now after the current tier dropped and doubly so with OC. This one's probably actually the most perfect definition of midcore content, though there's a bit of a lifespan issue to it now.

Not actually hard again but yeah this one is dogshit. The people who would be interested in this content don't want to do it because of the logistics nightmare involved with gaining access to it. It's even more annoying than Eureka was, somehow. Once again, like Criterion it's not an issue with the content design but rather the meta-systems around it. For Criterion it was rewards and player motivation, for FT it's accessing the content in the first place.

There's only two variations for that mechanic, you can tell that pretty fast. Splatoon actually kinda false jukes you with that mechanic, because it shows you a potential safespot, and then adjusts when the bits spawn in. I actually turned off Splatoon for that mechanic because its easy enough to do natty. If you see someone go to a safe spot instantly before anything, and then adjust to the real safe spot afterwards they were most likely using splatoon.

The real splatoon indicators are in phase 2. Basically all the mechanics.

My favourite thing to do when I can't start a profile is flesh out the character a little personally by thinking about 3 personal objects they keep with them.

Think about what they are, where they keep them, and why they keep them on them. Something they might have been given by someone they grew up with, a token for a quest they are taking on, something to remind them of home, etc

It helps flesh it out a little and gives you jumping off points to make more ideas come to life

I am the original anon you're replying to and I unironically had a pretty pleasant time from start to finish progging in PF. I jumped from fresh to towers/brambles to swap-to-clear quite quickly, the latter took the longest of course but I had a good time. Never touched a Discord, there are way too many public resources like wtfdig for Chaotic to need one. My original points are primarily about Chaotic because it was the conversation you've jumped in on. The fact you have to spend hours to retry does actually matter a lot though, time investment in a pull is already is a big influence on mechanic design. Hard and fast bodychecks or gotcha-style gimmicks without much depth a few minutes into a fight are a lot more chill than something 17 minutes into a fight, much less something effectively 2-something-hours into a "fight" like FT.

And so I would agree with you in the context of FT, but CAR is way too chill to have any issue with personally. Shit to the explicitly corny degree of a random Looney-Tunes style bomb on the floor that blows up the entire raid by accident just doesn't really exist in most modern fight design, CAR has nothing even close and given most of it is only a few minutes in with the ability to chain pull, it's very forgiving to wipe on even still.
