Just bring a team of priests or characters who know DIO+MADIOS and just defend. Once you get an opening, hit them. It's a fixed HP percentage so a backrow mage slapping them will do the same damage as a frontline 500 ATK fighter with a greatsword. Balance healing throughout the party and you'll win the war of attrition. Run from all mobs so you only fight the bosses.
Only deviation to this strategy is against succubi which must be nuked to death as soon as possible.
Give everyone a staff and as many scrolls of divine punishment as you can carry.
I had np trouble with this strategy even using bench-warmer priests in place of members of my A-team (With everyone at level 60 or high 50's).

Back: Shelly (learned DIOS/MADIOS), Eka (priest), Alice (Mage)
Back row all had two handed staves and front row all had one handed staves with shields.

the book store will get diluted too once more class changes come out for legendary adventurers, so if you guys actually like building unorthodox characters it's really not that bad to try for one reset.

So who are the best non-legendary adventurers? One thing people don't consider is how useful the inherit being on other characters affects potential discipline levels. For example Gandolfo is probably the best non-legend Fighter since he subclasses into Priest, has a good Discipline and Unique Passive, but his Inherit is so fucking important you're never gonna use his dumbass and he'll be stuck with no Discipline levels. Meanwhile Milana sucks as a Thief and Poison Attack is useless, but her subclass as Mage with her AS buff when feeding her copies of herself means she's an easy top 5 mage and a super good character in general (plus she buffs Evil characters in front of her).
I hate it when the crucible undead use their fucking instakill attacks and down my party members, which are at 0 fortitude, and I already expended my 3 flames.
Oh well, that means 10 hours of forced waiting.
And at least I got 3 out of the 5 bones there (and 2 junk shit).

If you manage to unlock the Old Castle before the current season ends, they're literally just going to hand out some 2k gems for anyone who stepped foot inside it.

Don't worry too much about their low damage. Most thieves do low damage anyway.
IQ = trap detection. DEX = trap disarm (affects the size of yellow bar during disarm minigame). Trap disarm is useless if your chest-opener can't detect the trap in the first place.
If you don't want to bring a thief, a mage would be the best option for trap detection but their low DEX would mean that you're gonna have to use your skills to disarm.
Traps aren't all that bad in the 2nd abyss but 3rd abyss traps can and will fuck you over. Petrification trap will cost you a flame if you decide to use MC to disarm a trap and fail. There's also party-wide skill bind as well as formation-scrambling traps.

As a side note, in case you want either to become more than just lockpickers one day, consider their class changes.
Amelia class changes into fighter. Which renders IQ useless if you put IQ into her when you wanted her to lockpick. Her discipline also doesn't affect her performance as a fighter.
Meanwhile Milana class changes into mage meaning if you went all in on IQ on her, it won't go to waste. Her discipline benefits her performance not only as a mage, but also as a thief. Even after all that, mage Milana is still a pretty decent lockpicker because the passives she learned as a thief carries on to her mage class. Oh, and her unique skill increases damage done by her and the ally in front of/behind her by 10%. It's a fantastic unique skill for her frontline/backline thief duty as well as a mage.
Amelia & Milana are adventurers that you're not supposed to feed to anyone because their inherit skills suck (even though Amelia's inherit sucks slightly less) so you'll be increasing their discipline skills instead. Ultimately if you want them to become dedicated lockpickers, both are great options and both are cute.

>>527741693If you're F2P I think you can make an argument for Milana or Elf-Mag being easier to discipline in the long run (+class change boosts for Milana), which also adds endurance/survivability, but Shelli is still definitely very strong. Her MP restore only really effectively functions once per fight - sometimes she'll sleep for longer and restore more, but during a long boss battle she can still run out. Much like Debra though the fact that you can spend MP more freely allows you to get to the boss in better shape in the first place.
