I just played Glenmoril on a Non-DB character and it felt fine to me. Yeah he's a "hero" since my guy is based off Guts. But The quest was pretty good for whats there. UNSLAAD I know for a fact you have to be Dragonborn.

I find the guild questlines in Skyrim to be unpleasant, except for Dark Brotherhood. There's so many overlapping story beats. In all four of them the guild head dies (Savos Aren, Astrid, Mercer Frey, Kodlak), in three of them there's some betrayal from inside (I consider Ancano as "inside" because he's always around inside the college), and in two of them it's the guild head doing the betraying. Also you really get whisked from quest to quest in all of them without much in the way of a natural stopping point.
And then Dawnguard is just "we heard you wanted a DLC questline so we let you play the same questline from two different sides with barely any divergence aside from which mooks you kill in a few quests."

Speaking of dungeons does anyone have any insight on how dungeons in Shivering Isles were made? One of the ones I went into was an arena complete with a prisoners' quarters. There's also another dungeon that drops you from hundreds of feet up into a giant pit of water like that one dwemer tower in Skyrim. Was Shivering Isles a shift towards handcrafted dungeons?

Honestly DaCoda is proably one of my favorite Quests mods in general, because of the timespace hijinks you could literally be anyone and complete the quest, theres a part there that tells you where to start Vigilant but besides that it's a solid mod. Not necessarily. An older system of mine (Intel i5 3570k + Radeon HD6950) would suffer from unplayable stuttering despite all the anti-stutter fix mods available online for LE at the time. The ultimate fix for that was a barebones ENB. Removed the stutter, gave me 60fps (outside Markarth) and even added some much-needed colour into the game.

The performance tax depends a lot on the ENB settings, which you can also tweak yourself on the fly and see how it affects your performance.

How many skill points per level is the best option? I'm torn between 5, 10 or just remove Static skill levelling and going back to vanilla levelling. I just don't like how easily it breaks and how little control you have around it. I always play specialist characters so most of my skills remain at starting level. Guess you'd need to tweak it for generalist characters.

Depends how you mean compatibility.
Ars only adds recipes for vanilla gear so if you mostly use modded stuff it won't be as useful. It doesn't touch many vanilla records -- a couple of leveled lists and modifies the arrow crafting recipes, which honestly is fine to overwrite anyway.
CRD shouldn't have compat issues given it's a runtime patcher but from what I remember reading it can be finicky to not generate recipes for stuff you don't want broken down.
