How many of you actually enjoy ragnarok's world?
A few days ago I did a world tour walking from Comodo to Veins, no fly wings, just walking around the maps, going to all the main cities and some of the dungeons like GH, taking the view in and killing some mobs while going.
It's really a well made world, more immersive than most mmos, and most mobs are interesting and fit the place they're in.
I'm pretty sure there are some maps that most players in /v/3 or myro haven't even stepped in once, because there are no good mobs to kill or item drops.

Hunting for more cards has taken me to a lot of new places recently. I went to Turtle Island for the first time yesterday and enjoyed walking and resting on the vines there.
I also farmed some Grand Pecos for a bit and took the time to just walk around rather than teleport. Wide open areas like that remind me of my fondest memories of games like FFXI, where you would spend a lot of time just traveling the world with your party. It's pleasant to go around the maps without a hurry, you can soon notice cute details on the environment and the well done transitions between landscapes. I don't think there's a real rate at which it doesn't hurt either side of the experience, I think what RO needs is an entire remake of the drop tables to make leveling weapons and gear more attainable at the levels you would want to use them, while making actual end-game gear still hard to get.
If you make gear obtainable at a good rate solo then it doesn't hurt party play much, people would go to get their leveling gear by soloing for a while and then come back to level on parties, instead of having to choose between joining parties or farming a piece of gear for a week straight alone, you know?

So people wouldn't be slaving over +10 level 1 weapons or slaving to stuff cards into it given the reality of pserver population. It is less rewarding to mob on majority of Pre-Renewal maps simply because of worse mob count but it wasn't a problem on high population servers where people would be contesting for spawns. There are simply more "gacha rolls" on average for equipment or card drop that would possibly end up in a vending store that you could buy in the end. Therefore, we are emulating higher playercount server by having higher rates on gear and cards. By the way, those should be 10x and 20x respectively, 1x for MVP cards.

For example, there's stuff like Ahlspiess, Curved Sword, Combo Battle Glove / Elemental fists, Battle Hook, the elemental books, literally all of the guns, a lot of the ninja weapons, elemental katars, and a lot of rods, etc; there's honestly a lot of decent weapons you could use, but is just hard to get them for when you need them, so you buy them from older players who sell those as trash instead.

I would also move like Fire Blend / Ice Falchion and other low use MvP weapons to normal mobs, since usually those are decent at leveling but bad at end game, but you only get them only at end-game so only ever use them on your 2nd, 3rd or whatever alt.

For me, I just buy weapons from weapon shops and farm like boots and muffler and stay on that until end-game, sometimes I farm cards but like you say, I farm those to use them later rather than while leveling.

For example, there's stuff like Ahlspiess, Curved Sword, Combo Battle Glove / Elemental fists, Battle Hook, the elemental books, literally all of the guns, a lot of the ninja weapons, elemental katars, and a lot of rods, etc; there's honestly a lot of decent weapons you could use, but is just hard to get them for when you need them, so you buy them from older players who sell those as trash instead.

I would also move like Fire Blend / Ice Falchion and other low use MvP weapons to normal mobs, since usually those are decent at leveling but bad at end game, but you only get them only at end-game so only ever use them on your 2nd, 3rd or whatever alt.

For me, I just buy weapons from weapon shops and farm like boots and muffler and stay on that until end-game, sometimes I farm cards but like you say, I farm those to use them later rather than while leveling.

As something extra, it doesn't really help much that RO's 4s weapons are so good, is hard to really have a reason to farm anything other than those for a very long time, and the alternatives are all harder to get.

This fixes a different problem imo, the elemental katars for example are endgame when slotted but unslotted they're just fine as leveling weapons and not much else, a lot of the other weapons mentioned aren't slottable.
Most of those weapons are also 0.05% ~ 0.01% drop, so the drop rate for those can be a problem if you want to use them for leveling.

There's some cool renewal monsters too, just like there's some lame pre-re monsters.

Some good looking ones would be like Menblatt and Faithful Manager, Charleston monsters, Nydhogg monsters (both in and out of the instance), Scarabas, Malaya monsters (I like them because they look creepy), the Robot maids (even though there's a lot of those) and Byalan monsters.

I agree that it sins a lot of just doing the same-monster-but-stronger thing, but I guess is part of renewal normal mobs being more of just kind of being there to delay you a bit while the only important mob of whatever dungeon / instance is the MvP.
From MvPs there's a few cool ones too at least, and a few that are a bit too much as well.

I was actually giving this a big think earlier and what I came up with is less of a fix and more of an overhaul but hear me out.

>Combine full buster and spread shot into one skill (so basically full buster with aoe)
>Dust and Ground Drift are fine as is
>Keep the shells as the ammo type but make them a little less aids to aquire

You now have what shotguns should have been from the beginning, the slow but powerful gun type with area damage. Dust is there for a bit of crowd control and ground drift is there for setting up kill zones (it probably still needs work, I've never used it so idk how effective it is).
My justifications for the full buster+spread shot merge is that shotgun builds are starved for skill points already and you wouldn't have access to AP ammo anymore with shells being the ammo type used, so that helps to make up for the loss in damage potential. This is all assuming we're talking about ragna/v/, because if not then the answer is to just delete grenade launchers entirely.

imo resetter makes servers more fun because you can play around with your character build, and because since theres periods with not many players online, it would make it viable to level certain classes alone and then still be useful in parties. Those against resets are retards that think you'll retain more players if they have to make 3 alts of the same class to level in different places/parties/solo play. Also if you're introducing changes to the skills, obviously resetting is important. You can add a zeny sink for higher level characters like 90+ trans.

3x, 2.5x or 2x are doable, but at least bump up the equipment and card drop rate a bit, because even if the exp is shit, if you're getting your gear you can at least level in better places.

If you're going to do quests for costumes or them dropping by monsters, please do not delay the server due to this, instead, make the costumes come in new occasional patches, so it makes people more interested in grinding for them.
One interesting thing I'd like to see is a return of the achievement system from /v/2, it was fun and made you go to maps you usually wouldn't with some characters. Maybe making some costumes drop from specific mobs would be great in that sense.
