I found resto shaman dreadful to play for instance but resto druid is quite fun.
Feral is still a bit iffy but enhancement has funny big numbers, druid tanking is simple and effective
I never got into balance but I heard elemental is kind of dull in PvE but fun in PvP for all the burst.

Both classes are pretty flexible given you have a couple of gearsets, druids have a slight upper hand in that you can use dps leather for budget tanking and shaman tanking is a bit slow and clunky

Shamans wear mail so you have more fashion options there and druids typically are going to be in a form unless you spend real life moneys

Tanks don't get "skill based defensives" until active mitigation anon.
The "skill based" game they talk about is 90% gear and 10% press your damage abilities to hold aggro, tanks will get one tapped in leveling dungeons without any real counter play on their part, putting all the pressure on healers that can't feasibly have good "leveling heal gear" and basically make the game entirely level to max, rolfstomp BRD and gear with some craftables.
You also don't get to put skill barriers in a game with <3k people.

I did some dungeons in one of the betas, i think it was rfk and maybe rfc. And while I remember them being a bit harder they really are not that diffirent than the vanilla versions. That said, no pserver will have the ecosystem for complexity because it lacks people, imagine that for a piece of content only 20% of the population has the raw skill to do it.
In a game like retail with at the very least 10k people doing that content you can chose from around 2k players that might fit your time, comp, etc... needs.
Now apply that to 1k players and suddenly the possible playerbase has shrunk to 200 dudes and we both know the population is more than likely in the 200-500 range at most so...

I personally don't mind the difficulty increase since I'm not a shitter, but Vanilla WoW is a game for shitters. Dungeons not being easily completable by most of the playerbase will only cause the game to die as the frustrated noobs will be regularly kicked from dungeons. Now sure you can get to 60 without ever stepping foot in a dungeon, but the reason most people play niller is that they have a nice comfy and fun game they can play while watching things and talking to their friends. Turtle playerbase is already filled to the max with absolute mouth breathers who click and turn and backpedal and singlepull in dungeons. I myself don't play with these people, but at least I recognize that they are the backbone of WoW that makes servers feel alive. Without them Epoch's pop is going to be horrendous, with only "hardcore" players wanting to stick around (by hardcore I mean above average, like the people who play 8+ hours a day and know mechanics and use keybindings even if they aren't uber elitist).

I will wait to see how things pan out. But I seriously hope if their numbers suck they take this into consideration. I would love if the server is great and has good pop, I will not be playing on a 200 pop slop even if the gameplay is what I prefer.

instead they are talking about 14 "launch-blocking bugs" (picrel) our of a total of 71 open in the issue tracker.

so what makes anyone think this server is coming out soon when it actually looks very far away from working or even being playable? is this all just hopium or have they made any announcements?

right, i see. so it should be pretty obvious to anyone with any dev experience that they are poised to try and launch a completely broken game in 6 weeks, given the current issue tracker.

bugs take an unknown amount of time to fix so they can't even technically commit to a launch date right now, if 14 are "launch blocking." they literally don't know.

and it looks like they are avoiding a final open beta since that will open up another 100 issues for them.

overall, looks like it's poised to be a clusterfuck but it's cool that they are going for it, even if they end up delaying or releasing a broken server where the launch is the beta.

i'll check it out either way but it might take months before it's in a playable state.
