Why the fuck am I hard stuck at HR Rathalos in MH4U??? It's suddenly so difficult when the rest of the game was relatively easy. They are simply not oblivious to how badly Wilds has done retention wise, and they for sure are not oblivious to the fact that World is pulling better numbers. They care to an extent, and maybe they're smart enough to realize that MAAAAAYYYYYBEEEEE releasing two unfinished high profile games back to back that ended up being major disappointments isn't good for their brand.
Really, I don't think Wilds can be salvaged. The expansion might be ok, but the game's issues are at its very core. Capcom is not going to walk back 'streamlining' and casualization. They are also not going to retroactively increase the difficulty of the base game in some way.
Unironically I think the fate of this franchise lies in the next game. The next game will show if Capcom is capable of even the small level of learning. They will either course correct a little or they'll double down and just completely kill all good will and trust in their brand.

Sunbreak endgame was actually amazing, the only problem is that they dragged up the progression way too much.
300 levels was completely retarded and waiting months between sets of new levels was just painful.

After 100 hours of Wilds, my friend and I decided to play Rise together. Heâs truly a Monster Hunter veteran, having played the series for 20 years. I had only played a few hours of World some years ago. So Wilds was the game that brought me back to the series, and I really wanted moreâmore monsters to slay, more materials to farm, more fun to have with my friend.
Unfortunately, the Focus Mode turned me into a CoD Hunter. I canât play without it. It feels like I have to maneuver a truck into a parking slot made for a VW Golf.
He just realized what this mode actually does, because he never used it before. And I can see why heâs mad.
I feel like I didnât even really play Monster Hunter the last 100 hours.
Not sure how to feel about that. Will Focus Mode ruin the experience for all, even for hunter not using it ?
