the hair texture pack came with a few dozen different gradients as well as unsaturated versions so it's pretty easy to change. High contrast gradients were helpful when adjusting UVs on the added geometry. I think the black hair with purple highlights looks nice too. But I worry about what having a hair color toggle would do for performance and having multiple textures would take up a lot of VRAM... a palatalized version with fancy shaders to adjust the colors via the expression menu would be really cool, but more work than I want to put in.

Anyway the VITRIOL demo was actually good. People say it's ultrakill VR and they're not wrong. But if you're going to copy a game, copy a good one.
The demo is surprisingly long and it really kicks into gear once you start to get a hang of the controls, which is a bit tricky, but the game does the game design thing where it introduces stuff to you a bit at a time giving you a chance to practice in a safer environment.
I found this game to be awesome and it's one of the two demos this set I actually went back multiple times to keep playing.

That's just the first level where the mechanics are being introduced. More enemies appear later. No processed footage of that yet.
There's also a weapon upgrade system which you unlock by finding secrets in the map which is fun. The movement controls are also tricky but they highly reward skilled movement as high mobility is possible. Overall it's pretty awesome.

The other demo I played multiple times was of lies and rain. I went in expecting absolute trash and found a reasonably shameless alyx clone. It's an improved clone at least; the game isn't hamstrung by teleport move and needing to teleport up ladders and through holes. It takes the parts of alyx that worked; the ammo-limited shooting, collecting and alien-tech setting and modifies or removes some of the shitty stuff.

I really like the game but it has some glaring issues with the pace of the combat. On-foot movement is extremely slow but a dash+jump sends you flying at breakneck speed and later on you even get the grappling hook. Earlier this year Meta's Director of Games said that over $2 billion has been spent so far on funding VR games and apps. While that number will also include projects currently in production as well as all the funding for small VR devs and ports to Quest so far, if you think $2 billion seems like a lot of money for too little return you're not alone.

Meta should just continue subsidizing VR tech. Mass produced pancake lenses and wireless are much appreciated. MQ4 should just be an MQ3 with only slightly better everything, and only SLIGHTLY better everything. If MQ4 subsidized body tracker equipment, with even only slightly better pixel resolution, better compression decoding, and cameras pointing behind head for controller tracking, then I would be satisfied.

The VR game is called Postal 2 VR. The decision to make it precedes the kickstarter for Redux.
Postal 2 Redux is a remaster for flat PC and consoles. Having Team Beef do it makes sense because they're already porting the original game to Unity and will need to modify it for Postal 2 VR. Hopefully that means the updates and changes planned for the redux can carry over to the VR release.

Was fine without for like music videos but just regular video watching was a bit annoying.
Light one just averages the last color and current.
Heavy does a little interpolation based on difference of luminance.
