I finally beat the Knight, got the weapon, got the shadow crystal, but it just kept going on with chapter 3's ending, I dont want to lose the crystal shard!!!! If I choose continue playing chapter 3, does it continue with my Knight rewards and let me go to castle town, save talk to Seam etc or do I have to continue in chapter 4, save, and just play 4? Is there ever an opportunity to go to castle town in either chapter?

I wish toby actually kept all the cut content of chapter 3. It would've been really nice if he delved deeper into the idea that every darkner knew Kris on a deep and personal level and wanted to make him happy which sadly only Tenna and Ramb touched on. I also wished he'd done more with Ramb, I got really good vibes from that guy and was somewhat relieved he wasn't a schizoboss that we'd beat the shit out of.

The hypocrisy in Asgore's actions are that he's willing to kill humans, but only those that he's forced to face. The underground is slowly devolving into madness while he sits there isolated, hoping no one comes so he doesn't have to take a life, but also willing to kill because that's his "duty".
Toriel's mad that he would kill anyone in the first place, but even angrier that he chose the long lasting isolation over just exiting to get the souls so they could leave immediately if he's going to kill people regardless.

Maybe entered the dark world, maybe explored town, but in any case after they leave Noelle's house it begins to rain, that's when she cancels choir and Kris ends up locked (or "locked") out of the house. Shortly after we go to the church to find Toriel and see it's a dark world, Toriel is no longer able to check on us once we enter the DW anyway.

Crack theory: Asgore was the one that initiated the divorce. He and Rudy were planning to divorce their wives together because they realized they loved eachother more.
Asgore followed through but Rudy kept telling him "yeah I'll totally do it but uhhh, don't wanna make Carol angry".
Then at some point Rudy got hospitalized with some possibly-terminal illness so Asgore decided "fuck it, I'm getting back with Toriel". But by then, they had been separated for so long that Toriel moved on and didn't want anything to do with him.

Since at the ACTUAL end Susie straight up forbids you from going into the school to go back to castle town for real.
And hell, I don't even mind the rhythm minigame! I love the rhythm minigame! I think it kicks ass!
But the only good fucking track it has is the one from chapter 3 since it's very obviously DESIGNED to go with the minigame while the others are almost direct rips of old tracks.
If he's going to have multiple tracks in that minigame the least that could be done is making sure they're new songs and work with the minigame well.

I think that the deltarune will extend on the undetale's idea with monkey's paw-like prophecy. In undertale, there was a prophecy: "when an angel appears, the underground will be empty". It's fulfilled both in true pacifist route when we break the barrier and free the monsters, and in genocide route, where we fucking kill everyone.

In chapter 4 we learn about the deltarune prophecy. But it is intentionally vague. It's not clear who "the second hero" and "the girl" are. I like the idea that depending on the route we choose, it's either Susie/Noelle or Noelle/Susie for Hero/Other girl. It's kind of poetic.

So yeah, Toby probably means that there will be one ending in a sense that prophecy will be fulfilled, the angel (us) will meet it's desire (to beat the game), and be will banished ("disconnected" from the deltarune world). Same destination, different roads.
