This is probably just massive cope but think about it. Obviously the bulk of free packs you get a day are tied to only pack tickets which you can't choose where they go. But what if every rupee goes into base set?
Eventually, you'll be pulling vials on every legend you hit. If you only intend to play like 1-2 decks, that means every pack you pull will be pure vials. You have to pull 3 legends to get the one you want, but at least you're actually pulling the legend you want and not so much pack filler, or whatever.
You'll pretty much have to rely solely on pack tickets of newer sets to actually get the bronze and silvers of the set, but at least you won't be left entirely to the whims of 'guess I'm a Forest main now' just because you pulled like 5-6 forest legendaries.
Do you think this approach could be viable or is filling out a complete collection of the base set just too slow to be reliable?

In a way, I understand the economy changes. A big problem with Shadowverse 1 was that people would always save their gold on expansion release date and then build all the decks they wanted on day one. Then they would complain for three months about how stale everything felt. WB gives players the same number of packs as SV1, but the game forces them to spread throughout the whole season. This way people will feel a constant flow of progress and they will get access to more and more new decks as the season progresses.

1. Balance
Instead of a "do over" were the developers learned to avoid the mistakes from Shadowverse 1, it's the opposite.
Shadowverse 2 embarrasses all the shitty aspects of Shadowverse 1.
Aggro is king.
All cards generate +3 or +5 value.
Removal is irrelevant because everything replaces itself.
Super Evo makes aggro better.
Combo also can kill you with 20 direct damage from hand.
Games don't go past turn 6 or 7.
2. Economy
The economy of the game is super fuck and is very unfriendly to f2p.
You're expected to spend $200 or $300 to make a starter deck, and that is nowhere enough to make multiple decks.
Also the battle pass value was reduced.
The cost of packs was increased.
You cannot vial anymore, etc.
3. Social Aspects
90% of the new features of Shadowverse 2 went into the 3D Lobby where you're forced to interact socially to earn rewards.
If you want to avoid that, you're losing about half of your already gutted rupee income.
Does Eudie fit in puppet decks or just artifact? I opened 3 Eudie and a single Orchis, and now I'm pondering whether I should craft a second Orchis.

Missions are one time and dry up quickly, what really matters is the daily income.
SV1 daily missions were worth ~2 packs.
Here dailies are worth ~0.4 packs and you get a daily free pack, but the daily free pack can't contain leader tickets and doesn't count towards the pity for one, nor does it count towards the legendary pity.
And on top of that vial income is nerfed before even considering not being able to vial stuff.
I'm surprised that my jank haven deck without legendaries is winning any matches.
how far can a non reroller/non spender player realistically get?
