I used to really enjoy talking to NPCs in Liberl, Erebonia and Crossbell, but I started to really get bored in Kuro 2 and Kai literally puts me to sleep talking to NPCs. Not sure if it's just me or if the Kai NPCs are just boring in general. Only interesting NPCs are in Old Town. As I said, I used to love to talk to NPCs in Kiseki. What happened?

Kai is literally just another cs3 where nothing happens till the end.

Thought Kuro 2 was preparing for us for an 8th element considering we had 7 elements and 8 genesis (the characters even remarked In Kuro 1 that one of the Genesis was used to develop the Water-element healing arts). The idea was that it would be the opposite of Mirage (which represents Active Cognition) and represent the Unconscious, which is the origin of the original sin (ie inner weakness that keeps getting mentioned in Kuro 2, that is only brought to the fore via the 8th Genesis but otherwise lies dormant). I was gonna call it 'Fugue' or 'Miasma'.
Also I got a pretty decent hitrate on picrel which was essentially a shitpost, it was pre-Kuro 2 hence me thinking LGC would actually matter in the arc

CS3-4 are easily the most grandious Trails games Falcom ever made....
While you can complete most games in 80-100 hours, these 2 can easily take up to 130-150 hours.
These games have the most playable characters, including a ton of returning characters from the previous games, and a very complex, lengthy story too.
Gameplay is also the best in these games, including battle system and mecha battles.
IMO Daybreak is a big step backwards in almost everything, games just feel cheaper, less characters, less content, etc...

Haha, Gaybreak wasn't very good. Started as an 8/10, ended as a 4/10. The finale is the worst in the entire series by far. The removal of Quartz rarity and the stats that came with them greatly restricts build variety, arts drivers and Holo Cores are direct downgrades from standard Arts Quartz and Master Quartz, and the game doesn't have anything to make up for the removal of Brave Orders. The actual quartz themselves are almost a boring as the ones from Sky. It really is a step back in the ways that matter. The action combat is terrible. It's somehow more braindead than Tokyo Shitadu.
The writing is just as bad as in Corked Shart. You have all the same Falcomisms and tropes. Every single character is defined by their core traits, and every single interaction they have is written from the perspective of these traits, e.g, Victory Jack is a gambler, so any interaction the character has is related to this no matter what the context. Almata is bottom-tier in terms of series villains, and all the attempts at addressing complaints about the writing being immature just comes off as tryhard and still immature.
The soundtrack is the weakest in the series, and it feels like the same 5 tracks on repeat for almost the entire game. The gameplay and progression systems in the game are too barebones for such a long game, and it doesn't even have basic minigames to break up the monotony.

Not nearly as critical as some anons are about Sky, and from the tidbits I have heard of Daybreak they sound good. I don't get the overt praise the CS dub gets; don't get me wrong, it's good. But not spectacular or anything. I get the reasoning behind Sky getting recast, but I don't think anyone but Agate sounded really bad from the Sky cast in Cold Steel. Tita was grating with the giggles, but that's more the writing/direction than a fault of the actress. But I've never made much fuss over voice acting. Even Rex in Xenoblade 2 wasn't completely irredeemable to me. The guy they got couldn't sell any emotion for shit, but he was actually pretty okay when a scene called for a chilled out or even depressed Rex. To me the gold standard of anime JRPG dubs is still Tales of Vesperia; Baker fucking killed it as Yuri. The guy that voiced Raven sounded great, too. I had high hopes for Zero and the build-up in the finale was cool but I couldn't help but feel like "that's it?" There's so many unexplained loose threads that have gone unaddressed and yes I know they'll get addressed in Azure but I think Sky 1 did a much better job of using all the pieces on the board that they set before their finale chapters and utilizing them all meaningfully. I'm underwhelmed
