Came to this thread to say that Delves killed this game completely. I seriously hope the next expansion goes back to an original formula that isn't all about shitty gimicks that force you to fucking have to hold a light or you die and shit like that. Hekili is still 100x better for rotation training wheels if you're looking for that kind of thing. I often use Hekili on alts and I perform perfectly fine if not actually still better than 70% of the playerbase.

But the suggestions their rotation highlighter or 1 button assist throws out are crazy. They don't account for shit like stance dance or popping vanish during combat as a rogue etc.

The Horde were aktually set up to be the good guys initially in BFA. But it was the Alliance who bitched and moaned about having to deal with consequences to their actions, that forced the Horde into yet another villain role.
Maybe don't try and assassinate the recently elected political leader so soon after the previous one died, murder Goblin workers and then try to start a coup against the current political leader when she's trying to play friendly.

The tree got what it deserved and frankly, the Horde should've gone further against Isra-, I mean the Alliance.

The Burning really, really broke the game. It was such a weird decision to make a playable faction responsible for the most heinous and damaging attack on a capital in the WoW era. Because if any other organization in the game did that, they wouldn't be allowed to exist afterwards. It'd be like the Scarlet Crusade getting shattered then having to rebrand as a shadow of its former self.

After Theramore was blasted from all realities just a few years ago in the timeline, there's no logic whatsoever to the Alliance leaving the Horde alone. They're obviously dangerous, unpredictable and will attack largely without provocation, then escalate to absurd extremes if you defend yourself. They are an existential threat to the Alliance that the Alliance simply is not to the Horde.

But...they're a playable faction. So wtf do you do? They've written themselves into a really bad corner in which it's not fun to be either faction in this scenario.

This is exactly what's led to where we are now. The writers have no idea how to actually deal with BfA, so they don't try at all. Pretend it never happened, which leads to pretending everything faction-related never happened, which leads to pretending most of Warcraft's story never happened. It's why Legacy of Arathor talks about the internment camps like Danath was never involved and it was just a random incident of hatred that happened for no known reason.

BfA destroyed the story far more than SL ever did. You can ignore SL and it changes practically nothing about the ongoing story. Ignoring BfA creates a gigantic, constant, compounding headache that we see now.

The base game is just called World of Warcraft the Roleplaying game (there's also just Warcraft books but those are pretty outdated for anything WoW related even vanilla), More Magic and Mayhem adds some extra classes as well as some scarlet stuff, Lands of Mystery covers Kalimdor in more depth and then you'll probably want to look over the Alliance or Horde players guide as well should all still be in the share thread if you look in the archive

The RPG books have some really cool lore in them, not familiar enough with sillytavern to say for sure but I imagine its the same you'll just pull out the relevant rules and world context from the books and then put it in the permanent memory file and go from there, the good thing is you don't even need that much world context, WoW has been around long enough that pretty much every AI has at least some context for what it is by default and can play off that you may just need to provide specifics on smaller locations
