I took your advice. Picked Myers, tombstone piece. Stalked until I had 99% to T3. Downed and hooked someone. Camped them until they unhooked themselves, activated T3 and tombstoned them. Then I did it to two more survivors. Last survivor I gave hatch because she didn't have a flashlight and tried to play the game instead of trying to flashlight me all game. Since they immediately got unhooked then died seconds after, I'm hoping they got punished for inting.

Just generally a subpar slowdown perk. In 99% of cases you would get more overall slowdown with Deadlock, and typically you would even get more slowdown with something like Pop or Ruin. Plus it's a perk where you have to play in a retarded way to get full value out of it; ideally you should never be hooking all the survivors early in the match when the slowdown matters the most, and what good does that final stack of Pain res do you when there's only one or two survivors left? Grim Embrace is not great for similar reasons but it at least it doesn't require going out of your way to hook on a scourge hook.

Streamniggers push those perks because they shill the gentleman killer playstyle where you spreak hooks like like a retard, because they have 10,000 hours in the game and can still easily win despite handicapping themselves by playing that way.

A 4 second chase from someone who's brand new doesn't sound that insane to me. Some people will just spaz out and 180 into a wall or you if they don't know how to play.

Way I see it the whole hatch shit spawns from a community wide perception issue.

A lot of killers have this perception that they need a 4k for a win. Which is obviously wrong when a 3k is a win and a 4k is mostly circumstantial and can be heavily RNG based on things outside of your control.

A lot of survivors have this perception that getting the hatch magically turns a loss into a win. Which is obviously wrong, they definitely lost the match, the hatch is just a consolation prize for the losing survivor.

Hatch is supposed to be there because it's unrealistic to have 1-2 survivors do 3+ gens, hell with all the gen blocking and regression and endgame perks plus the insane mobility creep from killers it's unrealistic for 2 survivors to do more than 1 where 1 is in chase and the other is doing the objective. If hatch didn't exist survivors might as well just stand still and wait to die when there's 2 left and multiple gens left to do.

I'd remove bleedout entirely with 2 survivors left without EGC and let survivors pick themselves up. Whoever gets hooked last gets a chance at hatch. That or let whoever is being slugged just leave when there's 2 left and dont replace them with a bot. They still get the loss but they don't have to waste their time either.

Escape over and over and over, so I decide I must be in lucky queue or maybe all the noobs are grouped together so the mmr is actually closer. Decide to finally use a cake, tell the other survivors that im using one. 4 cakes. HOLY SHIT! Im about to be swimming in BP.

Huntress LP hatchets me across map, runs me down, hooks me, proxy camps and tunnels me off hook. Survivors wont take hits or even attempt to body block. Hooked again. Unhooked before she can even get 10 steps away, she runs me down and I go out with less than 8k points.

It's not like they started the match like this though. They got to in this situation by losing up to that point. It's unrealistic for a team to revert a 10x0 score, but no one is giving them free stuff for it, it's their own fault they got scored on 10 times.

So yeah, we all know the hatch is not exactly fair, but we also know the issue it's there to solve. Survivors will just not do anything against overwhelming odds, even if said odds were a result of their own making, so the hatch gives them something to keep the game going. So as stupid as it is to reward people for losing, I do think it's better than the alternative. It's one solution to the issue. Though I wonder if it's really the best solution.

Either way, if it weren't so full of misconceptions by the entire community as a whole, it would have far less issues associated with it.

Anytime I'm not playing with them it takes me around 10 solo games before I *feel* like I'm being matched against people close to my level of incompetence.

For you the issue is if your kid is really good at DBD and you are bad at DBD, and you try to play together, the differences in your MMRs will give you pretty imbalanced lobbies. Obviously this goes both ways, if you get practice in and wind up being pretty damn good while you find out your kid and his friends are all shitters, you'll end up dragging the MMR "bracket" wider when you play with your son.

This isn't a flaw specific to DBD, but just in MMR-based matchmaking systems in general.

Honestly if your kid plays this game a lot odds are he will be way better than some oldfag with 10 hours of playtime. I think your best bet is to just try to git gud as much as you can.

A friend of mine i finally convinced to play the game, started playing because spring traps release.

First game on playing survivor with him he gets tunneled and killed first, i tried my best to take chase but you know how some bad actors in dbd can be.

He gets a warning message. Immediately sours his mood of the game, i tell him it was just one bad killer, so he agrees.

We launch into another match, killer tunnels him out AGAIN, he’s frustrated and to salt the wound the game thinks he’s “going next”

He eventually decides to refund the game and never play it again.

NTA. but when Nick Cage came out I ended up getting two friends to pick the game up. They both did the tutorial and then we jumped into a game. Killers were around my skill level, but they were obviously new. Killers DID NOT care and while I doubt the killer intentionally looked for them, they kept blowing motors and they had no clue about pathing or how to make a chase last longer than 10-20 seconds. They both kept dying 1st and 2nd on repeat. It only took a couple hours for them both to quit the game for good despite spending 15$ for the game and another 5 or whatever for Nick Cage.

29 killers have some kind of range or haste or teleport, 12 have to walk (or have some mobility you'd basically never use for map mobility) Even then if a killer was actually trying to proxy camp even the low mobility ones (like bubba or doctor) are still pretty good at it.

I don't really see any way to really prevent someone hard tunneling, at best you could just make it a really bad strategy like facecamping. Even in a SWF there's plenty of killers like Vecna and Dracula who can effectively ignore protection hits and bodyblocking if they know what they're doing.
BHVR also considers proxy camping a legitimate strategy so within their own parameters they'd have to do something that would disincentivize going for the person who just came off hook and incentivize going for a 1 for 1 trade instead.

Not bitching, just asking so I can be better in chases. What to do against Springtrap, especially Glitchtrap. Spring, I at least know to listen for his squeaky clanker knees after he door ports. But Glitch doesn't make the same sounds, there are no sounds. I was working on gen on Dead Dog, and the door was on the other side of the small building, so he had to come out of the door and go around the small side to get to me on the gen. Head on a swivel, ears open, but there's no sound and suddenly he's right on me axe raised. Getting hit with the axe either gives no speed boost or it's so small/Springtraps movespeed boost axelss is so high, that they catch me before I can make it to a pallet or anything to help me in chase. I put on SPRINT BURST and they still catch up to me before I can get the axe out of my back while sprint bursting away after getting hit. Is the play to just literally not get hit by the axe? Is there any way to deal with Glitchtrap not making noise when approaching? Are doors supposed to make a noise when he exits and it's just bugged? Not asking for nerfs or bitching, just not good enough to figure it out on my own. I don't own the killer so I cant playtest myself.

Springtrap is broken at the moment, when he exits from a door he is literally invisible for about 1 second. On top of this, the sound of him exiting a door is very quiet, and you can't visibly see unless the door is facing you, so overall he just has a huge advantage. Behaviour can't kill-switch Springtrap during his own chapter but they must be sweating to hot-fix this bug. I expect they will also make the door opening sounds louder.

From what I've seen playing the pizzeria map the Glitchtrap skin is, ironically, glitched when exiting a door he's invisible except for his eyes for one second so he can exit the door, get to you, and get a free hit/axe/grab if you aren't super careful. It's fucked. Haven't seen it on base Springtrap so I don't know if he also has the glitch.

There's also an audio bug in either the pizzeria map or after you interact with a door. I keep having generator audio play in my right earphone always slightly off from where it actually is and also it triggers near doors. I don't think it was like this in the ptb so I have no clue what the fuck happened.

I can understand the body part and head being a set but why cant, for example, springtrap have glitchtraps weapon or vice versa?

Ive seen the invis springtrap thing and the audio bug on any map, doesn't even seem specific to Glitchtrap, i've seen it on the face only springtrap skin too. I never use doors because even using the cam seems to cause the audio issue. also, scanning him on the cam lasts for so little that even if it didnt cause audio bugs it would be a waste of time. Such a high risk of being auto grabbed if he happens to pick your door for such a small reward of like 5 seconds of aura reading.

Basically springlock suits are designed to be functional both as costumes and as animatronics as needed, but the suit's mechanism got triggered by a drop of water and it went into animatronic mode with him still inside it, crushing every bone in his body and killing him. The Nightmare animatronics are probably our best bet at getting something close to the original cast playable in the game. They're close enough while also not breaking Scott's "Don't depict the animatronics possessed by kids as evil murderers" rule since they're just illusions. The entity can give them flesh in this game's realm just like how they explained Glitchtrap.
