Just search for the mod you're installing and sort by downloads. Hubs will always be at the top.
Hubs are useful as an indicator because all the shitmods that always need patches like WACCF and CCOR will always end up there, and they're a good litmus test for whether a mod is worth using (not the fact that they conflict, because they always will; but whether it's being used by people who have no idea what they're doing to their game but know enough to make patches).
My biggest gripe with hubs is people who set up bloated FOMODs that FOMOD+ crashes trying to install because it struggles with big lists. The Great Cities patch hubs are my mortal enemy.

I didn't learn until my second playthrough that the weapons you get from bosses give you a special attack. I also didn't realize there were items hidden every where that permanently boost your stats. There will never be another Vigilant. The best part of the mod is how it has not quest markers by default and you are just allowed to find your way to the center of that castle.

Anyone with intelligence would recognize that any combat overhaul should start with how the enemy AI engages the player. There is no combat overhaul that:
1) Fixes the poor state distribution of most NPC classes;

You are correct that the biggest flaw with skyrim gameplay is poor enemy and encounter design, but I think it's even more fundamentally bad that what you mentioned. Skyrim combat necessarily ends up as raw number checking in almost every case because there is no way to succeed through gameplay alone. Any fight with 2-3+ regular enemies means you will be taking guaranteed hits without abusing pathing because enemies are the same speed as the player and their AI makes them run the player down endlessly. On the flip side of that any amount of passive movement speed bonus you get as a player lets you kite enemies without any punishment except for arrows that would hit you anyway because enemies have no movement or gap closing options except running. 1v1 fights though are trivial since you can stunlock and interrupt their attacks basically forever.
Big enemies like dragons literally cannot be fought without hiding behind cover the entire fight and occasionally plinking them with arrows because there is no way to avoid their breath attacks.

Good encounter design needs a mix of enemies with different capabilities or enemies that are highly capable individually. Almost every encounter in skyrim is just spamming the same kind of enemy. A million dragur at once, a million bandits, a million falmer etc. There is no element of enemy prioritization.

What he's saying there is true about vanilla armor rating, blade and blunt has a simplistic response to that with its armor hard and soft caps which is an approximation of the diminishing return per armor point he's describing with that hyperbolic formula.
If you want a complete fix you will need another mod though, the one I'm using is resistances rescaled which implements that exact hyperbolic armor formula mentioned in the post.
