Saving Final Fantasy isn't that complicated.

ATB Command based, real time action RPG. Jobs with unique Commands. Instant switch like Paradigm Shift, but switching the Jobs are tied to the Dress/Garbs like X-2 or LR. Sex appeal for women and rule of cool for men. Beautiful and cosplay-able outfits for the girls and badass eye candy stuff for the guys. Female characters should be bold and ambitious, defy expectations. Front and center or even the protagonist themselves sometimes. But the main story still always has a strong male hero lead, hero is equal with the heroine and a dynamic supporting cast that represents many different personalities of men and women alike. A light hearted tone to contrast the often dreadful story events. Good sense for comedy and not taking itself all too seriously, because it is a fun video game after all. Science fiction elements that can allow you to go in bold new artistic directions, but keep the many traditional fantasy elements of the Command based JRPG front and center.

Sorcerers and Sorceresses, Knights and Lady Knights. Thief, Black Mage, Dark Knight, Dragoon. SPIKY HAIR. Bold, over the top costumes, Nomura costumes, and the Amano costumes with lots of beads, flowing patterned cloth, capes, hip sashes, leotards, white hair and weird horned helmets.

E33 was relatively pedestrian in scope when you look at the big picture, greater lore is barely explored at all. Playing FF2 via the Pixel Remasters for the first time (mostly for convivence since I only own a console). I did a bit of research on the leveling system but most shit you can find nowadays is min/max shit like "level everyone to max with double shield to get 98% evasion and then never take damage" which doesn't interest me. I'd like some challenge in my RPGs to the point I played the FF1 Pixel Remaster at 0.75% experience gain since I like to fight all my random encounters and they fucked up the exp gain so it gave too much.

From what I understand characters level randomly after a fight based on actions I take in the fight and the fight's level compared to mine. For example sword melee might give STR, a heal might give spirit, black magic int, taking damage HP, bow gives something. Then if its 1 goblin I probably wont get any weapon rank EXP or a stat boost but if its 9 AssraperEX mobs I probably will.

So really there isn't a ton of point leveling people with all the different weapons as long as each person uses 1-2 different ones so each type can be filled in case cool ones for each type drop.

Would a good strategy be
>Give everyone Cure/Life (since it can be used in menus) and self buffs (Barrier/Shell/Haste/ect) since they don't really scale against magic skills and might as well use their MP if you have it.

Equipping 2 Shields and beating yourself up for an hour when you first start the game isn't "minmaxing", it's just the correct way to play. What minmaxing really would be is if you grind Warp and Toad and then spam those until they're instant kill spells.

If you don't grind Evasion, you run the risk of getting stunlocked to death by random encounters.

Ultima's spell damage is based on the level of all of your weapon skill and all of your black and white magic skills. It does 9999 flat damage regardless of Mdef if you have everything maxed, but any empty slot counts as "0"

That's totally up to you. A good strategy would be to beat yourself up with double shields for an hour or two outside the starting zone. You do probably want Firion to have Swords though, so you can use Blood Sword on him. Or someone at least.

I was gonna make a post about how i would do a FFVI remake when it comes to the story and how much i would change like i would with FFIX remake, but to be honest theres nothing much i can add or remove from FFVI. The story is excellent and doesnt really need much changing.

The most important change that should be made to a hypothetical Final Fantasy VI Remake is for them to turn it from 1 game into at least 2 games. One game for the World of Balance and another for the World of Ruin. This is the most important change that could possibly be made to Final Fantasy VI and I think that it would add a lot to the game to do this. Or, should I say, dividing it into at least 2 different games would allow Square Enix to put more game into Final Fantasy VI. Think of all the World of Ruin fetch quests and minigames they could add. Think of all the additional lore. There would be a lot of things only possible by turning it into multiple games that couldn't be achieved with just 1.

FF8 isn't really *that* hard, but the systems can feel unnatural for a newcomer (tl;dr : enemies scale to your level so grinding will make your life actively worse - your spells double as equipment and stats - spells are "stolen" from enemies like items and not learned traditionally). It's not *the* FF I would suggest for a genuine firsttimer, but it's still perfectly doable as long as you make sure to interact in earnest with the game rather than bruteforce it. Still, do keep in mind it's a very unique game within the series (not just in terms of gameplay, but setting and plot too) and your experience isn't gonna representative of the rest at all.

I'd say VIII's difficulty comes from two things in the system:
1) the junction system is not really intuitive, and I don't remember a lot of it being explained ingame,
2) the "trap" of drawing spells. Since you junction spells to your stats/elements/alterations, you want a lot of spell, since the more spells, the better, so naturally, you're going to draw spells for hours off weak enemies, and it's a trap, you are meant to use alchemy and enemy drops to get lot of spells quickly.

The new Lightningfag chose his persona so that he could "blend in" and possibly win over the only remaining constants on /ffg/, that being the Lightning poem "purest muse" guy and the true Vanillefag. That's the reason he chose to start shitposting XVI by using XIII specifically, and it's because he felt that he would, by default, have at least 2 people here on his side at all times so that he might not absolutely need to samefag as hard and might have some people genuinely agree with him.

We see how that went. Vanillefag is basically gone, and the Lightning poem poster is basically gone as well. He literally ruined "their" game for them.

In case you haven't noticed, the people who post the most in /ffg/ are hellbent on using anything and everything to shitpost. It's always going to be something. Any and all news is fuel to shitpost FF with, even when it's not related to FF. She is a mediocre heroine and this is is coming from someone that loves XVI. To be fair the reason for this is because Joshua pretty much takes the role of the heroine so Jill kinda fades in the background. She feels like an important side character but not heroine material
