You're pretty much guaranteed to hit 14/15 with a ton of good gear and passives every single game if you clear a few nearby basic ruins/forts/gaols to lvl5 or 6 for the first half of Day1, and kill the 5 bosses and optional gaol in that L-shape + clear castle at some point during the rest of your expedition.

It is a free win either way but it takes forever and you do 50 damage a shot. With a greatbow doing the jumping r2 technique you do over 200 and can stagger the dragon by aiming at the head.
It is definitely a backup weapon to use for specific enemies or bosses though, the slow attack time fucks your ultimate guage buildup.
