I genuinely don't understand what the purpose of the

shit is. I assume there must be a reason, but I really don't get it. We know dark world food isn't actually real so us eating TV dinners etc in that world makes sense.
But outside of very specific instances (Kris being forcefed church juice and being able to drink Alphys' juice), Kris never ever eats or drinks unless he doesn't have the soul, and when the soul is in, he only eats when "our" eyes are closed (black screen). We are never given the option to eat anything in the light world either
This happpens way too consistently to the point that there has to be reasoning for it.
Even Gerson seemed to be aware of those restrictions, and sees nothing wrong with Asriel holding an apple up to Kris' mouth like he's feeding a blind donkey.

I am sleep deprived and thinking of Friend, and I have come up with the idea that we will need to trap it inside something it cannot escape from to win. A miniature world where it cannot "break the shell" to get free, like a chick unable to escape its egg. It represents absolute freedom, a voyeur who can stalk its playthings and manipulate them for its pleasure, and I think stripping it of its freedom will play into the themes of the game where your characters are struggling against a predefined fate. I think Toby is going to go full Mother 3 and have us unable to beat this thing fairly and instead we'll need to "seal it" like we've sealed every threat so far.

Whatever it is, it's very interested in Noelle. It keeps giving you hints on how to fuck with her so whatever the rapegeave or snowrape or doerape or weirdrape or whatever you wanna call it is, he's very much involved.

This will probably invite a lot of shipsperging, but I find it interesting that Noelle and Kris genuinely seemed to have a budding romance when they were younger - one that was presumably cut short by The Incident, and Kris not coming over.
That whole closet scene was just her in denial, being pushed to confront her past feelings, then shooting them down because she doesn't want Susie to 'get the wrong idea'.
It's obvious that she likes scary stuff because it's how Kris interacted with her - possibly his love language. A figure that scared her, but was a rulebreaker, doing what they wanted regardless of the consequences - that's what she liked about Kris (and probably Dess), and now sees in Susie. Interesting now how Susie is Free, and Kris is most definitely Not.
Also sad how crushed Kris was by her denial, to the point he let us slip past and strum the guitar. Angsty teens, indeed. A lot of interesting depth.

Don't know about you anons, but one of the most disappointing part of chapter 3+4 was Black shard and Justice Axe not getting some form of unique sprite in battle.
They'd just have to invert the colors of Kris' sword and paint Susie's axe that light gunmetal color even if it's not a full design change.
It's difficult to view them as these super important weapons when nothing has changed visually.

I can't view it as romance because they were younger kids at that time. Noelle always viewed Kris as being a weirdo and asshole, but it was balanced by him being relatively endearing with jokes and having talent with the piano so she realises that she does miss having him as a friend.
I think ultimately Kris is hurt by Noelle's words not because they were potentially romantic, but because he's hurt that Noelle has started viewing Kris as someone she was forced to hang out with and that she never cared.
Though it's important to note that in the route where you have this conversation, Noelle doesn't really think any of the dream was real and as such doesn't contemplate her relationship with Kris in the same way that she does in Snowgrave, where she very clearly brings over her new assertive nature instantly, even if she copes until chapter 4 on it being "real".

It's not super complicated. Noelle likes Susie because Susie is a perfect stand in for what Dess used to represent. And without her dad and dess around, the household is oppressive and controlling, so she tries to get what she's missing from the rebellious kid in school. It's built on trauma and longing.

He also usually catches up to join us in new dark worlds, which wouldn't make sense if he was an item we had on our person, since we maintain all the items we had on our person every time (like the bundle of junk, shadow crystals, weapons, armor etc) which a knife or sweater would obviously be an example of.
