Some other game I played forever had some glitch where you could get hit multiple times by one bullet and die instantly. Every enemy could just instantly kill you if you weren't careful to not get shot in the first place. Everyone thought it was headshots or critical hits but the devs confirmed neither of those were a thing. It suited that game but it was a glitch and when it eventually got fixed basically all of the tension of just walking through areas was gone. That game though the cost of death was way higher. You only got one life and had to corpse run to get your stuff back and the stuff you did have would cost several missions worth of stuff to even buy in the first place.
As for helldivers you get 5 lives which regenerate and drop in with all your stuff except for your support weapons/backpack which only has a few minute cooldown. There's not really any consequence to dying. You can even finish a mission and die without extracting and still be successful. At best the only reason to care about dying to bullshit is if you have an english username and are playing with the chinese because they won't reinforce you. Even then it's just a longer waiting period until the game resumes.

It is indeed. That's why missions have 20 reinforcement as baseline. People just get irrationally upset if they die even if it is expected due to bad luck or getting overwhelmed. Also, all of the "bullshit one shot" are usually preventable or mitigated because they usually come from slow enemies or slow attack. Games have so much tools to bail you out too. Diff 10 should be designed around squeezing all of those reinforcement to the limit. People don't want to tanky enemies but people also don't want enemies to have too dangerous attack. If enemies have no chance of one hit or combo you to death, you can just stim and escape in most situations, especially with the stim booster.

Nah. Arc Thrower and Guard Dog clean up any chaff, leaving commando for heavies. The fun tech of this loadout is stunning hulks with the arc Thrower and seeing if I can land the shell of the OPS on them for quick kills. Tanks can usually "tank" a OPS shell but can get finished by a commando shot or similar follow up. The OPS is objectively shit but it is good for objective clear and annoying structure removal. It's also fun to see if I can 1-tap tower turrets by trying to align the trajectory of the OPS to hit it from the correct side.

Slugger is flavor for stuns and trying to tap heads. Dagger for sweeping groups of troops if I don't wanna arc em. It's a dumb loadout but I like it.

Bots and Ayys are very consistant, and can be mitigated with cover. Bugs feels like a bipolar girl that can't decide if it wants you to kite everything or stand and fight.
