Thanks, the true lab was a pain in the ass but I learned a lot which has made this process much less painful so far. It was kind of an odd choice to add but I'm glad I did and that people enjoyed it. Dragon Blazers is based on the Lord of the Hammer, which is based on the prophecy, so many people think this means the Snowgrave version of events are closer to the original intention of the prophecy. Possibly there is some weird time loop shit going on, since Kris has their own save file in the beginning of chapter 1. The Tree is either metaphorical or a literal location for Kris's trauma. This isn't just an average trauma but far, far worse. I believe Kris was implanted into the world, or at least hometown through an orchestrated event that erased his ORIGINAL home represented by MANCOUNTRY. Their home there seems relatively normal, and the monochrome Rudins being painted over could be those original inhabitants being forgotten entirely. This is why the eggs and related content always need you to REMEMBER and not forget. Kris in art therapy tries as hard as he can to paint whatever happened there but physically cannot, and the gray creases in his hand plus the other hand stuff may mean he barely escaped themselves and ended up with a false hand. The eggs are so problematic to Gaster that regardless of the game seeming to break because of snowbreak, he holds no issue with them, just specifically these eggs. Additionally, you need to take some incredibly convoluted steps to find these eggs AND preserve them between days, as if something is actively trying to erase them.
What I believe? Deltarune was originally planned to have a human only cast that turned into monsters in the dark world. The one we have has virtually zero human presence outside of Kris and maybe the Man, only mere hints. Highly unusual for a society that seemingly integrates humans and monsters well together. I doubt Hometown is a segregationist outlier or that those even exist. Kris as a child, well before Dess's disappearance has always had unusual behavior, beyond normal childish troublemaking. The shadow crystals hint at the possibility of a world without Kris at all, and we originally were never meant to play as them to begin with. The original prophecy basically suggests it was the VESSEL, not Kris as the hero.
I believe Kris is a holdover from that original setting, wether it was Gaster'd away or just destroyed normally, and is being actively forced to forget it.

I'm doing pacifist run, I don't even want to attempt the bad routes, not even in another file I will delete later, but I'm in the middle of chapter 3 after the second round and I just completed the second level of the "real" videogame and

The whole "fraud knight" jokes are incredibly unfunny, but there's enough overlap with the jokes about the soul being a giga chad that I don't mind it that much. Like the idea all the characters in the story see the soul beating the knight no hit and all they all start sweating profusely is funny to me.

People keep saying that "you can get better by perseverance". I think that's bullshit, as far as the knight battle is concerned. Sure, at first you die in the first turn, then after practicing you can consistently get halfway through Susie's dialogue. After that the skill is basically plateaued, any further is just doing enough attempts to get through sheer dumb luck.

I've always assumed that the Pure Crystal would have the opposite effect of a Shadow Crystal, meaning it can be sent backwards once obtained.
Either way, now you must start a fresh CH 2 save and do an aborted Weird Route. Now with the ThornRing and Pure Crystal, you can create the Twisted Sword. Presumably giving us an alternate CH 3 (If the Jackenstein fight is actually correct)
This will end with Kris being strong enough to survive whatever the fuck is going to happen to him, breaking the prophecy and unleashing the consequences that come with that. The route will most likely end with Kris usurping our control, keeping the SOUL but without us able to influence them. This is due to the Twisted Sword's Trance Down effect. Will his life still be completely fucked? Yeah probably but at least he's free now!
