In the ARG world, the world shown in the Shadow Crystals, Susie did not go to the Dark World
In the in-game world Susie DID go to the Dark World
The Sword Route game has what was supposed to be a black reindeer character get turned into a black boss monster character because of the "Toriel" variable
The difference between the Shadow Crystal world and the in-game world was when Toriel comforted Susie and gave her the spark of hope in her heart, this caused her to be nicer to Kris and go to the Dark World where the Prince was now Toriel-shaped instead of Dess-shaped

I like to think that there'll actually be three endings: A true pacifist, a neutral, and snowgrave. True pacifist is where the hecking power of friendship triumphs over the prophecy. Neutral is where the prophecy is carried through. Snowgrave is where the prophecy is carried through, except worse for everyone but (You). Gaster will be there too, and he'll rub his chin and say "Hmm, so this is the DELTA RUNE I was looking for..." and we move on to the third installment: Gaster Tale, which will solidify one of the endings as the true canon since Gaster Tale could've only continued off from specific circumstances, unless the Delta Rune comes about in all three instances.

The truth is that we just don't know and trying to decipher a story by pulling on threads of logic is to misunderstand how stories are created and written in the first place. To put it bluntly, stories are created out of the emotional sphere of human existence. They have internal logic of varying degrees, but everything in every story ever made was created to serve the emotional thrust of the story, not to construct some sort of elaborate virtual world with perfectly sound and logical goings on.
