maybe this general should go to a slower board...

>>528202346>Sawyer was a bronfag No wonder he's evil.
>>528215945Bronchads will rise up one day.
>>528227429We could have saved him :(
>>528232705I would have done anything to save him, if only the game would let us...
>>528236034Literally all the player had to do was say "I think we should wait until Doey gets back before going forward with this." to Poppy. Fuck ass mute asshole.
You know how if the nukes flying in Fallout were delayed by a day, things would be super different? What if the Hour of Joy was delayed by a day?
>>528199790This was a couple of months ago, but I genuinely think we should reconsider that guy's offer from the fnaf general. Merging threads is the only way I realistically see this place staying above water atp, chapter 4 clearly did not hit as hard as 3 did in terms of bringing in new people.
>>528242791If you want to even try suggesting merging threads, it might as well just be the indie horror general again, with us more than likely being the dominant posters anyway, so the only change will be the name really
>>528243268>guts hanging out and are barely contained in his body by bandages>entire frame is a fucking wreck riddled with wounds and blood>arm is gone>left leg needs multiple bandages jsut to brace it, implying it suffered significant damageThe answer is barely.
>>528242791The FNAF general not only just recently got their new game, they're also so full, of hate for their own franchise that merging with them would be to our active detriment because it would invite a bunch of people who have made themselves into schizos out of seething spite and hate for the very thing their general exists to discuss. It would not be worth it.
>>528244948Also this.
>>528247656Maybe Longlegs had a good reason to be afraid. Death might not be enough.
By giving the player the choice of not killing the dragon, they open themselves to the possibility of multiple timelines.
>>528244948Well it being indie horror gen at least opens it up to discussion ig. Like talking about Indigo Park or Dark Deception could attract at least a few people who could help bump the thread. I dunno, it's just a thought ig.
>>528252851So I've heard, but honestly I'd rather a thread with some people bitching if it means that it doesn't 404 at less than 50 replies every time.
>>528292486>but honestly I'd rather a thread with some people bitchingIt would be literally the entire thread. If you want to turn the general into hell and run out every decent poster who actually cares about the game, then be my guest. But ask /sthg/ how that went for them if you ever get the chance, because that kind of cancer is exactly what 5N@F became.
>>528284953Dogday confirmed to LIVE tomorrow.
Good to see this place back.
So, without a doubt, 1007 is Poppy. We know the first few experiments done by the BBI were total failures, dying during their operations or minutes later. So that means 1007 cannot be in the BBI, if they are dangerous enough for Sawyer to keep an eye on. If 1007 is successful, then they were made by Ludwig, meaning 1006 cannot be Ludwig. So now we know that The Prototype, was Poppy's prototype.
Now we must ask again, who is 1006? Two options, either he was a boy named Ollie, same one found on Ludwig's estate, or he's Rich.
>>528317991Also, the list we see 1007 on only has two other numbers. 1172 (Kissy, presumably) and Doey
>>528312997Give it up anon
He's literally never been mentioned anywhere, it's like he existed in his own pocket dimension inside the playhouse
>>528317991I'm pretty sure the theory of him being Rich was already deconfirmed.
>>528321575My dad works at Mob games.
>>528324620Yeah, his tape in 4 reinforces the theory that he's the Player. He says he'll always be here for them when they need him and that they're family, real hero shit.
Some may think it's too obvious, a red herring, to them I say: Ollie.
>>528317991Rich literally could not be the Prototype. One of his subordinates complaining about others joking about him disappearing is a clear reference to the fact that employees who know too much have been going missing. That would only be a thing if Playtime Co was already knee deep in the Bigger Bodies initiative since that's realistically the only reason they'd start disappearing people.
>>528195481 (OP)Surprised this hasn't been posted since the general reopened.
They completely 180'd on the Critters huh? Last year it was just them, and their cartoon versions too, now only CatNap gets a plush to represent him.
>>528336204I think they're just trying to show off all of the toys now. Especially since chapter 5 is presumably the grand finale to the main story.
>>528336204>Those faggots chose a character who can't reach the top level to have the red crayon. You know who would have been able to reach that high consistently? Bron.-Harley Sawyer
>>528343603I think Boxy COULD reach the top with his springy arms, he's just bouncing for the fun of it
>>528324620>>528327161>>528334346So he has to have been the "real Ollie" then.
That means Ludwig has some explaining to do. Sawyer says he was a coward, yet the man clearly experimented on a child and tried to hide the remains.

>>528345776Sawyer strikes me as the kind of guy to be scrawny.
>>528341015>Especially since chapter 5 is presumably the grand finale to the main storyI would hope so, but Zach himself has said there can be as many as 10 Chapters. Given how they build the plot anything can happen, but I'm gonna rest on a potential Chapter 6 being in effect the start of Poppy Playtime 2.

>>528436136Let's be real, Stella is probably the least likely person to have suggested and wanted to carry it out. She's head of Playcare. Sawyer probably don't even give a shit what goes on there.
Pierre likely sticks out as head of Innovation, so he's arguably the highest ranking member among the three of them. He's also the guy that people in the company hates in general considering the workplace propaganda has to remind employees not to fuck with him.

You need to come up with a brand new toy for Chapter 5 asap or else, what're your ideas?
>>528450014A toy alien creature that changes into different forms depending on the task it's doing. In-universe it's sort of Playtime Co's version of transformers but being Playtime Co they made it so it can have multiple forms rather than just 2.

>>528534237Also feels weird to jump from character who's origin is still unknown to character made of 3 kids. Needs a little buld up.
>>528536727Even by chapter 1, with that adoption poster, everyone pretty quickly concluded the toys were made using the children. Chapter 2's test subject papers just confirmed it. The three bodies in one has that extra horror element of needing to ask what it's like for the minds that aren't in control.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fa-dhMWMWDE
FYI, Poppy is at minimum 30 years old.
>Parents split up in 1930
>Dies sometime in the 60s
She was at least 15 years old when Japan surrendered ending WWII, if not older. She is not some cutesy baby doll, she's a fully grown woman.
>>528568417That thought crossed my mind too a while back. But then I realized, do we actually know that his daughter is biological? Orphans are such a major part of the plot, and Elliot was the one who created Playcare in the first place so maybe his own daughter was an orphan he adopted some time after his wife divorced him, and that's what inspired him to create the Playcare orphanage.
>>528569848That's actually highly plausible given the fact Poppy really doesn't act like she's any older than a teenager. Her plans aren't well thought out, she's overly emotional, she cries for her dad to save her, if she were an adult it's unlikely she would've regressed so much.
>>528571154She's definitely not a small child, but it seems like her emotional response isn't fully developed. Which I think has more to do with the fact she was seemingly mostly kept isolated from the real world before the Hour of Joy and then got locked in a case for years afterwards. In fact, it seems a lot of the toys have pretty stunted emotional development even though they should almost all be well into adulthood.
It would be nice if Mob could give us a definitive year as to when Ludwig was born. I think it would give some level of context to some of the events in the game and who he was as a person. Was he born in 1912 and founded the company as soon as he was an adult? How old was he when he died? How much did Sawyer realistically need to have him killed versus just waiting a little bit longer?
>>528572286Some of the toys have been conditions by some means to take on their roles. Mommy Longlegs and Miss Delight certainly seem to believe they're the characters while the smaller toys in safe haven have, as much as they realistically could, either kept their original identities or assumed new ones beyond just being a Hoppy or Mini Wuggy. We also know that early experiments suffered from stunted intellects.
>>528562986Cute Napping buds
>>528574143Miss Delight's will always be the saddest to me, because not only is she totally brainwashed, but she doesn't even get to have any individuality.
>>528573769>Was he born in 1912 and founded the company as soon as he was an adultThat would mean he was only 18 when he got married and divorced. Already a divorce in 1930 America is far fetched, Elliot himself needed to have done something to warrant it, but we can roll with it. We actually already know that he made the company the same year as the divorce, but they only found their footing with Poppy dolls in 1950.
That would mean, were she biological, Poppy would be born when Ludwig was just 18, yet he only made the toy based on her when she would be 20. So that can clue us in that she's adopted and probably just a little toddler when the doll was created.
>How old was he when he diedHe could've lived up until 1990, which I think is likely because now we know Poppy was only revived in 1989 at the earliest, because she came after 1006 who was made that year. That means Ludwig lived to the ripe old age of 78 before he keeled over.
What'll happen to Kissy in 5?
>>528584730>a divorce in 1930 America is far fetched, Elliot himself needed to have done something to warrant it,A certain level of neglect could have warranted a divorce, which would fit with Ludwig's workaholic tendencies.

So for the last month or so I've been playing Project: Playtime. Now that I've got 40 hours logged in it, I felt like reviewing the game.
At it's core it's very, very fun. I would go as far to say it could be even better than DBD or any other asymmetric horror game. The Grabpacks make everything so much more interesting. You can revive people from a distance, grab toy parts from far away, shit like that. Also, shutting doors and swinging around feels very rewarding, you need to actually aim and think about timing instead of just dropping a pallet immediately. Replacing generators with puzzles was also a smart choice, far more engaging to do a memory puzzle or reaction test than it is to do quick time events.
The Monsters are also super fun to play as. I don't think there's one who's better than the others, though I found Mommy to be the most enjoyable. Each one has unique movement options and map control, really good stuff.
Unfortunately, the game sucks. Ignoring bugs, there is no penalty for leaving games. Since the monster is the host, toxic monster players will leave to make sure no one gets tickets for all the stuff they just did, and often times entire teams of specialists will dip making the game impossible for the one or two guys still remaining. Also the amount of content is pitiful. 3 monsters, 4 maps, only the Ch1 Grabpack, it's too little. This is a great experience for just a few rounds with your buds but will get boring after a while.

How did they have enough orphans to create over 1000 experiments?
>>528815007A lot of the earlier experiments did not use humans. Experiment 814 was with a rat, for example. But that still leaves hundreds that DID use orphans, so still a good question.

>>528815007Many of the initial ones weren't human-made like anon said, but that absolutely gargantuan pile of mini-critters in Chapter 4 probably was made purely from orphan flesh-goop - which still means your question remains.
My best guess is they stole kids from halfway across the globe and pulled it off by obscuring what was really going on as well as mostly doing it to the sort of kids who would never be missed.
>>528832206>My best guess is they stole kids from halfway across the globeFunnily enough, in both the recent Omnihand tape and tapes teasing Project, some of the text is written in Russian and German. This only appears on classified tapes, normal employee training videos only have English captions, so it might suggest they had teams in Europe purely for the experiment side of things.
>>528837916Of course he is, he needs lots of mass to keep daddy safe
>>528837807The idea of them carrying out experiments in other facilities around the world seems weird. They have to be so secretive about their operations in the US that even some of the people who knew about the bigger bodies didn't know they were made from children.
How do they coordinate that with International locations? Ring them up and say "Hey, don't think too much about it, but on a scale of 1-10 what would you rate the concept of human rights?"
>>528838716>he needs lots of mass to keep daddy safe
>Had a whole slew of Pianosaursus earlier
>They're all gone
>>528839129I don't think they did experiments anywhere except the main factory. It seems Sawyer had to be involved with everything to some degree, his knowledge was so valuable they had to create an entire system just to keep him contained while gaining his knowhow. It seems unlikely then that he'd be able to involve himself in anything happening across the pond.
What it looks to me like, is either the Heads who see these tapes are from different backgrounds, or the locations in these countries are just fronts for human trafficking.
>>528839129>>528845254I'm definitely of the mind that the other locations were just fronts to gather subjects and resources covertly, rather than experiment locations. They almost certainly just shipped off anyone or anything they caught in other worldwide facilities to their main location for actual testing and bigger body conversion - they wouldn't risk some whistleblower from across the world blowing the lid on all their operations without some easy and quiet means to dispose of them.

>>528899265Can we rule out the possibility the leadership just wanted to conquer the planet? Their endgoal for the BBI was to create monsters that were intelligent enough to understand orders, but loyal. Their chief scientist went a bit mad and started ranting about bringing humanity into a new epoch of existence. The kids in their care who weren't turned into toys were brainwashed into worshiping the company.
>>528900723>Can we rule out the possibility the leadership just wanted to conquer the planet? No one in Playtime Co is shown having a gun, which tells me that the majority of the bigger bodies could have been killed with one. Doey is the only exception I've seen. It's hard to conquer the planet if your primary force can be handled by a dude packing heat.
More likely than anything there were two goals: Immortality for a select few of the researchers and greater profits for the company at large. The orientation notebook says that the orphans aren't allowed to own non-Playtime Co toys. Which is especially evil considering that those toys could be their only tangible reminder of their life before they were orphaned.
>>528900723>Can we rule out the possibility the leadership just wanted to conquer the planet? Possibly. Sawyer was seething over Ludwig 'overlooking' him in his gifted children's program so he wanted to outdo him, but the others seemingly were in it for either the love of the game or gaining immortality.
>>528903301>No one in Playtime Co is shown having a gun, which tells me that the majority of the bigger bodies could have been killed with one.You don't need one when you have a grabpack, which can decapitate normal humans with zero effort but does nothing to the toys. Also, Huggy suffered battle-damage that would kill literally anything else and is still functioning - your average small arms weapon isn't going to do shit to a toy on the war path. Or to say, a cat the size of the house gassing you with debilitating nightmares from way outside of your range then casually disemboweling you.
>>528903301>No one in Playtime Co is shown having a gunNot shown, but Leith Pierre threatens to shoot you for entering the labs, so they must have some personel at least in that section guarding their research.
>The orientation notebook says that the orphans aren't allowed to own non-Playtime Co toys. Which is especially evil considering that those toys could be their only tangible reminder of their life before they were orphaned. That stuck out to me when I was reading it. It's a measure to ensure the total isolation of the kids from the outside. It makes them more vulnerable and less likely to speak about their experiences if they did manage to leave the factory. It can also be seen as the company trying to sure up it's future consumer base by forcing it's way into childhoods.

Dude is tanky, and I'm 99% certain he only died because the Prototype basically just pierced straight through his head and put the other end. Which is a strength feat for the Prototype, not a point against CatNap's durability.
So if the Prototype isn't Poppy's father, why did he care about her? You could argue he doesn't, but he listened to her pain and later confronted Sawyer about how he treats the toys, when he drops the act he says makes it clear he doesn't want to do what he's doing, just that she's forced his hand. He even says "it's time to come home" which suggests he has some special treatment for her.

>>528930382He was already knocking on death's door by the time the prototype took him outta his misery. It's also not really the best idea to give the prototype any strength feats from being able to pierce catnap considering the fact that we know a normal grinder can crush Mommy (who was way more flexible than CatNap). This is all without mentioning DogDay who was shown to have about the same resilience as a regular human when it came to the mini critters being able to take bites out of him without any teeth to speak of.
>>528949040>It's also not really the best idea to give the prototype any strength feats from being able to pierce catnap considering the fact that we know a normal grinder can crush Mommy (who was way more flexible than CatNap). The same Mommy can punch her limbs through solid stone with zero issues, so either her strength and durability is inconsistent or different Bigger Bodies have different degrees of strength. The latter seems likely to me just based on what it took to take down Catnap in comparison.
I'd also say this level of durability is 'normal' for the toys, given that even Yarnaby survived getting set ablaze and only definitively died when he lost his gripping and plummeted.
>This is all without mentioning DogDay who was shown to have about the same resilience as a regular human when it came to the mini critters being able to take bites out of him without any teeth to speak of.We have no idea how the Mini-Critters (or most of the toys for that matter) eat. And given those same Mini-Critters could perfectly hijack and coordinate Dogday like a sockpuppet despite not having the mobility or manipulatory appendages to manage to do so, I'm not exactly inclined to treat them as comparable to anything a normal human could deal with. Especially because even smaller toys in the Mini-Huggies display enough strength to literally break people's necks with ease.

I only today remembered this game takes place in a toy factory, and the company's primary purpose was to make toys

>>529427706It isn't funny it's very very mean
>>529347461Actually yeah, chapter 1 was literally the only factory part of the game.
Chapter 2 focused on the games with a little bit of factory segment during the chase.
Chapter 3 was Playcare with no factory stuff.*
Chapter 4 the prison and various labs and ongoing drilling operations
And chapter 5 is going to be more labs
*I don't consider the red smoke production thing to be factory related since it's relevant only to playcare
>>529443762It's a strange situation. On one hand it could've just been a mistake or lack of direction, but on the other it feels sort of intentional. Like how in 1 we immediately find out the factory has a theater, which we later see in Project.
>>529445327To ellaborate, they always wanted the factory setting to give way to the sci-fi and weirder things. My main complaint is just that we spend too little time in the actual factory, all the more reason Ch1 needs a remaster or something.
>>529446587It needs it but I have serious doubts they ever will at this point. That's just how it's gonna be forever, bummer but honestly it's iconic now. At least pjpt gets to expand on the setting a bit with its maps.
Chapter 5 will be a soulsborne like.
>>529456443Anon no, they already have a fully coded roll move in the files

>>529576565If they were worried about that, I'm surprised they didn't replace the voiceover. It's word-for-word identical (aside from the name of the doll obviously), I would've tried to paraphrase it at least.
Also that shot of the factory entrance area is unintentionally pretty funny, feels like a continuity error with how decrepit it already looks. And the fact that the Poppy doll predates Huggy by a few decades, so that mural of him shouldn't even be there to begin with if we're to assume this commercial was from when Poppy was new.
The new shot of the doll heads is an improvement though, they look like Poppy heads now instead of just being generic baby dolls.
>>529578832>I'm surprised they didn't replace the voiceover. It's word-for-word identicalNow that the evidence of direct copyright infringement is gone there isn't much reason to. They aren't using a modified version of the original audio, they just redubbed it. There isn't much now that the company behind the commercial can do.
>feels like a continuity errorIt is as far as I know, just an alert that this company isn't nearly as successful as people think if they can't even shell out the time or money to modify an existing location.

>Elliot Ludwig
>Ludwig is a German surname
>Born c. 1900-1912
>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_Americans#Impact_of_World_War_I
>Germans were forced to Anglicize their names due to the World Wars
>Elliot Ludwig retained his German name despite this, depending on when he's born this can either be his parents choice or his own in WWI, but now matter what it's his own in WWII
>The pressure to Anglicize was so great, the only reason he wouldn't is if he held deep loyalties to Germany
>Tfw Ludwig was a Nazi
>>529601207>German-named streets were renamed. The town, Berlin, Michigan, was changed to Marne, Michigan (honoring those who fought in the Battle of Marne). In Iowa, in the 1918 Babel Proclamation, the governor prohibited all foreign languages in schools and public places. Nebraska banned instruction in any language except English, but the U.S. Supreme Court ruled the ban illegal in 1923 (Meyer v. Nebraska).[107] The response of German Americans to these tactics was often to "Americanize" names (e.g., Schmidt to Smith, Müller to Miller) and limit the use of the German language in public places, especially churches.[108]This is the only reference to that and it overall seems like a minor thing. Worse yet this seems to be based on the impact of World War 1. Ludwig founded his company in 1930, over a decade after the events of World War 1. The US didn't enter World War 2 until 1941, which in turn is a decade for Playtime Co to grow and Ludwig to increasingly become a household name.

>>529734609I wonder if the Nightmares will also be in it too?
I mean Mob could use this as a potential way in really knowing the Nightmares (Voices, Personalities, and Relationships), their teaser file did say they used to be friends with the Smilings until something bad happened, maybe this could explain what happened between the Smilings and Nightmares?
So the huggies, why are they wuggies? Well let me tell you, they say they say huggy...the big guy the big blue I think guy yeah, I told someone he was blue, they wug. Now most people don't know what wug means someone went to me and said sir, I don't know what wug means but you're so smart you must know and I said I do, but really the whole nightmare critters just don't what even is a bat. Baseball? Am I going to be playing baseball with the nightmare critters no, I know what a nightmare critter is.
