I am pretty new, but I've oinked out some stash tabs. Last league I got like, 2 Voidstones, and lucked out on a Mageblood. This league 3 Voidstones. Playing femboy snaking!
I still have no fucking idea what to pick up. I play with neversink very strict, and this league, I started picking up rares, IDing them and throwing them in a quad listed for 10c. I sold like, 5 items, 4 of which were bases I lowballed myself for. Out of 2 whole quad tabs!!! I looked at the filter rules, and tier 2 rares seem logical for me to pick up! In my mind, even if it's a 2nd grade base, maybe the rolls are good and I'm getting some coin! But this happens so rarely it feels like if I only played and pick up raw Divines I find I would be better off. I've picked up plenty influenced pieces too, and those never ever sell!

Influenced items aren’t worth that much anymore. Also only the t1 bases will have value in the first place. Because recombining got nuked. So the items you identify that have value will need to have good stats, because nobody is gonna buy one unless they can just equip it straight away without any crafting. I suggest installing awakened poe trade so you can easily press alt D over the item to check if anyone else is selling it. To gauge the value. You don’t have to pick up yellow items, they’re by default worth 1c. Basically when you identify a yellow item, what you’re doing is using a chaos orb on it. So it’s a free 1c by default. You can’t really go wrong on this, just use some scarabs for whatever content you enjoy. Try to upgrade your items, full t1 items are way harder to get this league. So you might have to use worse items.

It's hilarious when people copy streamer builds with any of the maven belts that replace charges and use a Ralakesh that isn't corresponding to that same charge as if the interaction is completely beyond them.

I get that the game has funky interactions that make or break characters and I think it's just a fundamental thing that the game doesn't do well explaining, or rather, the notion that to CREATE a good build you need to understand(or rather read) these things and people would rather just PLAY a good build

I also think it's because the heavy focus on end-game while starving the midgame or essentially removing it.
Yellow Maps are irrelevant and serve no purpose in the game currently, or even the white-yellow-red progression of your character because of how much emphasis there is on red maps
So this causes 2 things:

you need a build that can run T16+s fast, cheap and easily or else you're missing 99% of your loot/currency
>Second
you want a build that skips gear progression to T16s as white/yellows are worthless

Watch like a general crafting video. Theres not really any step by step instructions because of the way it works sometimes you have to make compromises or risky decisions which don’t pay off to try to save the craft. Like cluster jewel crafting you basically just harvest reforge the rarer mod because it’s so unlikely to roll from an orb. And you’re way more likely to get the wrong second mod, but that’s still worth keeping. So you’ll end up with like 5 times as many secondary cluster jewels than the one you want. Or you can try to annul the mod off to save the rare mod, and then augment it. It’s just like a numbers game dude based on the price of the orbs and the price of bestiary dudes and life force. Craft of exile has a simulator which can help you find what mods are rarer than others, highly recommend checking what your mods rarity is first.

The TL;DR is that there are 3 steps to the process in my eyes and people over complicate it usually with the steps inbetween as they are looking for something specific.

or harvest reforge until you get something you want

bonus: get a fractured mod on the other side (like spell suppression) beforehand

Look for mods in the mod pool which you want to add ontop of it
In this case the PDR roll is essentially free on armour bases because
This is where craftofexile comes in; you check it for options and more importantly the tags on those options.
PDR is a physical tag and the only one
Harvest has "reforge with physical tag"

Meaning we can get a good triple prefix mod chestpiece + pdr for the cost of the base + "cannot be changed" metacraft
Some other good rolls are Chaos Res

>Step 3, clean up
Up til now it's been cheap / consistent, but this is where you pray.
Since it's for mid-level items, at this point we have 4 mods of T1-2 that we're happy with, and we're looking for just a really solid rare we could potentially sell later
For jewelry a fun thing I like to do is check the influence exalted orb mods and just ex slam them with something cool rather then generic.
Getting a styg vise with life + 3x good res is not that expensive, and you can hunter exalted slam it and hope it rolls chaos % or max life %.
