"Swoon" is literally just what the word means: a partial or total loss of consciousness. In other words just knocking Susie out (as opposed to Kris who is forced to kneel, or Ralsei who is just fucking obliterated into a pile of fluff).

Also unlike the other two, if you keep fighting the Knight as Kris solo while the other two are downed, they will start doing progressively more damage and the Knight starts making pained noises when struck. As mentioned there's also the fact that Kris is hiding abilities like X-Slash and only letting us use them when they want us to.

They were supposed to lose to the Knight here, Ralsei must have seen in the prophecy. I think the extra struggle is a hiccup of fate granted Gaster straight up gives the player the power to keep trying. So if for a moment it seemed like the prophecy was about to go bust, Ralsei being terrified and relieved at the same time that Kris would go as far as knock down their own team as a way the prophecy goes on untouched is fitting.
This also goes to show getting the pure crystal will be critically important, I really don't think you were meant to have it in the prophecy.

I feel like people put too much weight on the birdcage. If they were given the SOUL by someone else, they could have been given the birdcage at the same time. If they knew ahead of time that they would need to remove the SOUL for their plan, then they could just get the cage as part of said plan. The wagon is banged up from crashes, but wagons are common children's toys, there's no indication that the birdcage itself has any wear and tear. I still don't believe it could have something to do with Dess' disappearance because then Rudy and Carol would hate Asgore even more. It COULD be that Asgore got so obsessed with finding her that it affected his personal life negatively, then the Holidays might have appreciated it while Toriel hated him, but then I'd expect there to be a feud between Toriel and the Holidays for trying to give up.
