I messed around a bit trying to find a way, to combine the best aspects of both Deltarune and Undertale combat.

If the aspect ration is changed from 4:3 to 16:10, I can put all the battle UI to the side, which means we have a larger battle field. (More space means more space, shocking, I know.)

This means we can have more space for larger, more detailed enemy and boss sprites. (I used asgore as an example for this.

I also changed the $!$? Gang's position to have them surround the enemy, and put Kris on the bottom. This way, the boss the boss is not only facing Kris' direction, but it's also facing the player. I'm kind of hoping to emulate the more "personal" feeling players have when fighting undertale bosses.

Honest answer from someone who actually watched the show:
Doctor who started falling off during the Moffat era which had a lot of really dumb ideas that made the plots more convoluted. I personally dropped the show at the 12th doctor and so many plot twists involved bootstrap paradoxes and it was feeling really stupid.
Then for the female doctor era, they brought in a new director, Chinall who previously directed the Torchwood series. Anyways this era was absolute ASS, somehow when worse than the Moffat era. You can watch Jay Exci's videos for a full breakdown of why it's awful.
The gist of it is they tried to change the formula to give multiple side characters an equal amount of spotlight but none of the characters were actually interesting, and many of the interpersonal conflicts made no sense.
After that shitshow they finally brought back Russell T Davies who was responsible for the #9-10 Doctor era (the ones everyone loved). But I think by that point the damage was already done and too many people dropped the show and moved onto new things. I did hear that the black doctor episodes were actually GOOD again and was a major improvement over the past decade. That's largely because it's Davies directing the show again.
tl;dr, female doctor wasn't the problem, Torchwood director torching the series was.

At that point then it seems good for an alpha-concept to iterate on, was just thinking about it in context/terms of DR (however few mechanics there are). Think the peak moments would be for team attacks if they get animated (tall ask) as you also have room for the trio to do splashy combos. An example would be a weird mix of Project X Zone (tactical RPG but a big part of doing damage is actually juggling the opponent for combos, the enemies can fly high to the air and wall-bounce too) and Chrono Trigger.

The Darkness is being equated to a liquid, hence a Dark Fountain.
Dess is lost in the Depths, the deepest parts of the Darkness, where the Dark Fountains pull from into the Light World.
Kris and Carol want to start the Roaring because it's the only time a passage to the Depths will be possible.
But Kris needs to be stronger so that the Roaring can be stopped once Dess has been saved.
Ice Magic can also freeze things, if you can get colder than cold... you can even freeze the Dark.

It was speculated around when chapter 2 dropped that, whatever happened in the bunker/with Dess, Kris died, and then got reanimated by the red soul being placed inside them. and that that's also why kris does the zombie walk when the soul is taken out

The main issue with that is it seems like Kris regularly sleeps with the soul removed, when normally you'd think in a situation like this, there'd only be so long kris can remain animated without it before turning back into a corpse. Could also be though that even while removed, there's still an intact connection between them, just not as strong and possible one that gets weaker with distance
