The late game damage for puppet is great if you can super evo Orchis into super evo Orchis, then stall until 10 for Liam if you managed to keep an evo tucked away. If they're haven and have been healing, all game, you're kinda fucked though.
But yeah, they need some other decent way to end. Here's hoping it's a more puppet support, or non artifact portal stuff. The deck really needs a 4 drop, and figther is...decent, but I have to run fucking Rukina to fill out the deck. Could use a 5 drop too, been making use of the mecha cav to try and overload some crafts, they can still clear it without too much issue.
What the deck needs is a win con without needing to eat evo, or a way to get there hoping you draw Orchis twice

Two main priorities: get gears by turn 7 and alouette. You need to try to get 1-3 drops so hard mulligan for those with the exception of alouette
In most matchups you will need to get Gamma with alouette but for example if there’s an empty board then making a copy of alpha is really hard to deal with as portal since evo alouette is a 4/6, and if they make a striker to kill it then they can’t deal with alouette
Sometimes gamma is necessary but it’s extremely easy to kill as portal so sometimes the games get extremely grindy
You still want to make your mech if possible but it might take longer than other matchups and you have to be willing to adapt
Also pro tip you should basically never play your three drops mechs. Sometimes you need to copy them and it’s good but actually paying mana for them slows down your mech gameplay way too much and will lose you the game

Here's how it works.
We spend the first 7 turns dicking around trading minions and accomplishing nothing of real substance.
Then I play my 8-mana card that wipes your board and floods my own board.
In response, you play your 8-mana card that wipes my board and floods your board.
We do this until one of us runs out of busted 8-cost legendary cards and dies, then we requeue and do it all over again.

It's a very strong play, problem is it's a lot of setup and in a lot of matchups/games you either don't draw into the necessary cards or the opponent doesn't let you because you know using caravan mammoth (lapis) as your 8 drop is kind of tough when opponent can play things like orchis.

Rune is pretty much the only one you can consistently beat down as abyss currently. Your only chances at winning on abyss are if you manage to cerberus/wrath of serpents them down and they've bricked to the point they cannot stop you or heal themselves even a little. Even then aragavy/wrath hurt you almost as much as you hurt them.

This game will literally catch up to endgame og shadowba tier powercreep within 2 expansions, I don't think the devs honestly anticipated the game gaining as much attention as it did and so they set it up to EoS rugpull within a few months.
Too bad they are stuck on this path now they would need to fundamentally rework the entire game to reduce the powerlevel if they decide they actually want it to keep going.

Haven Control - probably my "main" right now and won the most, but sort of not comfy since every game will go so fucking long. i do like control though.
Portal Hybrid - i do quite like it because it's varied, and it's one of the best budget decks. but i'm not totally in love and i only have one orchid.
Rune Boost - i started with this starter deck and have 2 Climbs, but 0 Kuon. it is more my style but again it has to go long and it's a bit hard to finish without all the pieces.
or just tell me to play Abyss. memes aside i've seen some ideas of "control" abysscraft, so it is of interest to me to have a deck that is control but a bit faster than haven/rune. i have medusa and cocktease, but no olivia or ceres.
