Well, definitely didn't expect to make a villager home/farmhouse, but I guess that's what I ended up doing my first real day back playing minecraft in about six months or so. I have a lot of spruce, I have a lot of dirt, so I tried making something with mud brick and spruce.

I found a little desert village and I've been slowly expanding it. It's been fun desu.

I keep having the problem of villagers not being able to find the beds in the houses I build further out, so they stop breeding even though there are free beds. I'm gonna try spreading a few bells around town to see if that spreads the villagers around. If that doesn't work I might have to fill a house with a ton of beds or something.

Thanks. This is the inside from when I played around in Creative, though I think I changed it somewhat when I built it in Survival. Scale can be tricky to get right when you're working with smaller builds, since there's only so small you can go before a single blocks feels too large

so, what next for minecraft ? ghasts are cool update that brought something fresh to the game [i know its just a rideable fucking ghast but still] and it got me thinking, what next now lads ? i hope the minecarts get updated, i want to upgrade my current nether ice road into german autobahn, the minecarts tracks can be hard to make, and they could even be slower than blue ice boats, but it would mean traversing up and down, and having the ability to make nice corners instead of having just straight ice road from point A to B

A slight redesign, added 2nd level, and a new feature. Now it finally works, though I have to climb up to the cuck chair for any meaningful number of spawns.
Next up, building a platform at the right height for a mob catcher so any zombie villagers don't fall to their death. But that has to wait until I have time.

The last update was pretty good for transportation so I've been thinking about minecarts too. If the past decade has shown us anything though, it's that Mojang doesn't want to touch minecarts. We'll get slightly faster minecarts when the experimental features get implemented and that's it.

Not only did Caves and Cliffs take them forever to finish, they also revealed that the allay was originally intended for the nether update but ultimately got delayed. Of course, being part of the mob vote means it could also have been scrapped entirely, despite being rough but functioning *2 years* before it finally got added. Everything they do takes time. This is actually a guildhall. These villagers are getting the emerald treatment. They're able to freely roam around (but not go outside as I put down carpet over thorn bushes). I have six (three floors of two), but as I install more furniture and workspaces, I want more villagers moving around the structure. So, bunkbeds, I guess. Takes the total from six (potentially eight) to twelve (or sixteen if I include the ground floor).

And it gives you a straight line for you to follow. You could just continue going in a straight line for hundreds of blocks instead of throwing them all immediately. So, apparently having happy ghasts floating freely around causes a bug that slows down events like falling objects, breaking items or even shooting an arrow. But that can be avoided by parking the ghast in a minecart. Which also works to easily ride it without having to chase it or carry snowballs. And to release it, an activator rail will kick out the ghast.

Well, point is does anyone have decent ideas to build something like pic related? I love the idea of having a ghast parked in a wagon, ride it, push a button and get expelled into the air. Then turn around to park back into a fresh wagon.

All mobs can enter minecarts as far as I know. Maybe the warden and dragon are exceptions, but not the ghast (happy or otherwise). Sadly, you can't launch ghasts using minecarts, since they lose all their momentum when ejected by an activator rail. They also don't get any meaningful momentum from slime blocks or wind charges

What if we crash the cart against a cactus? If place a trapdoor on top of the cactus, the player won't take damage, but the minecart will drop as item. If we place a hopper below the rail right before hitting the cactus, it will collect the cart so isn't destroyed. From there, feed to a dropper, then into the rails to reset the circuit.

As for the ghast, as the cart is destroyed instead of interacting with some activator, should keep the momentum?

I'm not sure how you'd crash a minecart into a cactus without also having the ghast crash into the cactus. Maybe the ghast's hitbox would be large enough to clip into the cactus before the impact, thus effectively ignoring it? I guess it's worth a try, but I'm pretty sure it won't work. Players don't get any momentum from minecarts either. unless I'm misstaken. Doesn't matter how fast you're going, the second you step off you're back to walking speed

In modded you build a cobblestone box with a "SPAWN ENEMY FOREVER" block in the middle (no need to keep it dark or build it in the right dimension or anything like that), then place the "KILL EVERYTHING" block on the wall next to the "SUCK UP NEARBY ITEMS" block which automatically puts all the drops into the "FREE WIRELESS INTERDIMENSIONAL ITEM TRANSPORTATION" block which sends them to the "INFINITE STORAGE WIRELESSLY ACCESSIBLE FROM ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD" block. If you want to delete the zombie flesh or whatever, just add a trash can block and filter out the junk in the GUI of whatever item pipe you're using.

It's not hard to keep a chunk loaded, but you may have a point with multiple golems working in tandem. I can definitely see pathing becoming an issue quickly in an enclosed space because of how bulky the golems are.

You can keep chunks loaded with ender pearls now, so that's not an issue. Assuming they don't need to be within player range for some stupid reason. I could see golems not being able to open a chest if it's already opened, but you should still be able to use 2 or 3 per chest by just having them take turns. It's like sending harvesters to the same resource in an RTS; you always want one mining while the other is making the return trip. Then just add another chest for 2-3 more, and you've got a whole team going

If these copper golems only work with chests (and not barrels), then I'll need to heavily revise some of my storage solutions.

I'd be extremely surprised if they'd be able to keep up with a minecart, but then they only need to deposit into a single chest as they go by it. If their AI scans for chests in a single tick it might work. Unless that 7-second cooldown kicks in because they can't path to the target chest due to being in a minecart

Now that I think about it, depending on its reach you might be able to have a minecart right behind a copper chest, and a whole wall of regular chests behind the minecart, and the golem would basically become a mechanical arm at that point. Just grabbing and inserting without every having to move

If you stack chests around the track, and have stops along the way to make sure the golem always gets a chance to deposit at every stop, you can probably pull it off. Having a dummy chest right by the copper chest to trigger the cooldown initially means you would have full control of the timing. Just make sure the golem is where it needs to be 6.9 seconds later
