enc is still ok for dumping concentration on and selling 3star enchants for a few k, but yeah production professions are basically dead unless you wanna sit in trade chat and use addons to msg people in trade services.

I started playing a month ago and currently my gear looks like this. Half of my items are crafted. I didn't run dungeons to find loot, I didn't care about dungeon loot at all: I only needed crests to then craft whatever I wanted.
They should either nerf crafting, or integrate it better with the rest of the content so it doesn't replace it entirely.

I had about 30 characters that I practically don't touch, but those were so old and I would only ever do timewalking on them (pre-nerf) so they all had a couple of thousand badges from the quests.
Bought all the anniversary shit, bought all the new TW stuff, still sitting on 25k badges.

All I'm saying is that the crafting system makes 99% of the loot in the game completely worthless, which is bad design. (The same could be said for Delves vs. low keys, or M+ vs. Heroic raids. All these sources of loot are conflicting with each other.)
Let's say, for example, that the recipe for a 681 weapon also required a maxed Hero weapon. You would still need to farm dungeons, find the item, upgrade the item, and THEN you can turn it into something stronger through crafting. Now these two systems complement each other.
The way it works now is: acquire 90 crests, type in chat, get giga-weapon you're going to use for the rest of the season, don't give a crap about weapons every again.
Then you acquire 90 more crests, type in chat, get giga-necklace you're going to use for the rest of the season...
Do this until your run out of Sparks.

When the patch starts you can only craft one item a week and then if you happen to get a mythic item out of your vault you have to choose between leveling it up or crafting since weekly crests are capped. It's taken about 4-5 months to get to the point where you can have 8+ pieces of crafted gear or more if you take tokens out of the vault to convert to sparks at the cost of having an item that's slightly below max mythic. On top of that we're getting so many cantrip items, next patch it will be boots, ring, cloak and god know what else they'll introduce so that's more pve stuff that far outweighs crafted gear in the same slot.
