To be honest, I'm tired of tragic and bittersweet endings because every other person thinks like you and shoves them into their game without alternatives. The number of happy endings is already far fewer than ambiguous ones, and I'm damn tired of it. Life is already a grim thing full of uncertainties, tragedies, and horrible events, and I wish that at least in games, things could be good and peaceful.

That's why I don't like the direction the game is heading. I don't like that the player will likely get a bittersweet ending in one route and a horrifying, shameful ending in the other. This ambiguity is so exhausting; I see it in literally every other game I play.

I think this reasoning is flawed because it doesn't take screen time and thematic importance into account.
Sans and Papyrus aren't furries and they're two of the most popular UT characters. Toriel is just at the start, Asgore is at the very end, and Asriel spends most of his time as Flowey.
But in Deltarune, so much of the focus is on

I really liked ch3 but I have to give respect to how much ch2 sets up, how funny it is, and Spamton
ch1 is fine but it's definitely gonna be the weak link of the game in retrospect. I might just be a psychopath but I actually love bittersweet endings when done well. I initially didn't think much of chapter 3, seeing it as a silly, low-stakes adventure chapter without much in the way of overarching plot significance, but the more I think about the symbolic clash between the Tenna game and the secret Ramb game, the more I'm convinced that chapter 3 might be one of the most important chapters in the whole game in terms of thematic thrust and symbolic foreshadowing. Within the context of deltarune as a full finished game, it seems like the player is meant to discover the "weird" route first by completing the Sword Quest and seeing the cryptic, allegorical hints towards this more extreme, 'evil' route. Obviously, chapter 2 released years in advance, but in the future, if a 13 year old picks up deltarune once it's finished and plays it matter of fact, chapter 3 will likely serve as a soft introduction to a whole narrative layer festering below the surface game, making it pivotal to the entire experience as a whole.

weird shit is happening with cold and december, I 100% agree, but if you apply it to every character or event that happens around these things then everybody is december. you also get the weird wind blowing shit from the bunker and around the holiday mansion during the exit scene.
