I think he's fine how he is, bugs aside. If anything I would want a few slight nerfs:
-I want his door exiting noise to be a little louder, as the front of the door isn't always visible from generators to watch for blinking panels.
-I want any doors within X meters of a hooked survivor to be unselectable for travel and for X seconds after the unhook happens, similar to nearby lockers for dredge. Springtrap should still be able to enter a door nearby a hooked survivor, but can't cancel it and has to travel somewhere.
-His gen info add-on has to have a proper penalty. Something like you emerge 1~ second slower from doors.

people say that SpringTrap has tells, but you need to have very good hearing to know that he has left a door near you. Yes the screen flickers before he leaves a door, but it's not very noticeable if you're observing a door that's far away. Doors don't always spawn up close while facing a generator so telling survivors to just pay attention to watch the door screen is a moot point. It doesn't make sense for his stealth to be so strong when other stealth killers have very noticeable tells.

For actual horror, I feel like Blood-C could work. Have the friends of the main character who died be taken to the fog instead of Heaven/the afterlife and then have one of the Old Ones from the anime as the killer.

For that they have the options of 'the monk' who can manipulate fog, 'the spider' whose probably never going to be added now thanks to the devs, the 'bunny beast' which can transform its arms into deadly weapons. Though desu I feel like if this was even considered by the devs, we'd only get skins for survivors. The better monsters from the anime already exist in DBD like a Samurai killer.

(2) Demo has surge which is excellent for m1 killers, and mindbreaker which is a great general perk to just use if you have a free perk slot in your build.
(1, possibly 2) Unknown has unforeseen which is fun to be undetectable often in a gen kicking build. I believe his vaulting perk was great last patch but then got nerfed again, not sure.
(0) Dracula has no notable perks. The totem blocking perk isn't good enough on it's own and is overkill if you're running thrill of the hunt.
(0) Houndmaster has jagged compass which people theorized would be good during the PTB but it was completely forgotten, it's just not worth using a perk slot over just accepting wherever the scourged hook placements are and even then, agitation is better then jagged compass.
(2) Plague gets corrupt intervention which is so useful, arguably mandatory on slower set-up killers, people have wanted it to be baseline for years. she also gets infectious fright which is very powerful on snowballing killers such as oni.
(0) Oni has no notable perks. The super clown autist who wrote a novel about how to use clown likes tactics though, and in gimmick builds, nemesis lets you switch the obsession by walking into their pallet stuns, if you want to do that.
(1) Twins has coup de grace which is a free down per token if used properly, and well worth considering. oppression is useless except against new players and on the first kick of the game against everyone else.
(0) Merchant has 1 perk that is almost good and 2 meme perks. the healing debuff perk is great in chaos shuffle but too unreliable in real games because of all the healing perks people bring. game afoot, like nemesis, is good to switch obsessions for memes. thwack feels like it borders on being useful but is ultimately just far weaker compared to better options.
(2) Hag has ruin and devour hope, both of which are strong if they go undiscovered or well protected. the blindness totem is for meme builds.

Something I've found by checking the stat tracker after matches
>No gen defense, just chase perks: game is usually over in 6-8 minutes, and in most of those matches they could have finished the last gen and left much sooner but they stuck around to milk the game some more for one reason or another

I think BHVR does this on purpose. Every time I suspect newfriends and show mercy it's massive taunting faggots. But during times I decide to harden my heart, in the postgame I find that I was killing baby survivors that got screwed by the dogshit MMR system. They must have some way to detect my blood pressure and endocrine levels to determine if I'm feeling merciful or heartless at any given moment to match me with the "right" lobbies for this to happen so regularly. It's like how when you get tired of facing SWF bullysquads and equip Lightborn, it guarantees you match against solos all carrying medkits. I can't prove it but this sort of thing happens so consistently it no longer passes the sniff test and enters rigged bullshit territory.

Of course, their current system of fucking with us is yet imperfect. Extremely rarely, I'll play nice and in the postgame I find out that it really was newfriends. Honestly springtrap has the same issue as unknown of having an extremely precise skillshot that missing guarantees the chase goes on another 10 seconds, angles just having to be afforded to you by the maps. Huntress remains better because not only are her hitboxes more forgiving but the multiple attempts let her close chases much faster, fast enough to make her better even without a teleport in my opinion.

Not any of the anons you're talking to but in my opinion, Springtrap has the best teleports in the game. It would be Sadako easily for every reason you said, except that whether or not the TVs can be teleported to is out of her control, and survivors should be keeping them all turned off. They're also disabled a while from her own teleport. I think the consistency of Springtrap's doors gives him the edge as the killer that, consistently throughout the whole game, can be at any generator he wants faster than any other killer. Sadako will have moments in each game where she needs to go to a gen and can instantly teleport there, but plenty of moments where that generators TV is off, whereas Springtrap may need to spend some seconds going to the nearest door but after doing so, can always then travel quickly to any generator he wants.

It really is not. TVs have a 45s cooldown when she tps to them, 70s cooldown when survivors disable them. A big part of Sadako's skill ceiling is learning when to tp to TVs just to turn them off yourself, so that tapes cannot be grabbed and their cooldowns can't be lengthened. And of course just using her teleport is building up a secondary objective that survivors have to engage with or die.

I'm not sure how to feel about that. Maybe it's because I run Empathy but whenever I want to reveal Springtrap it's very quick and easy to do, I would basically have his doors blocked all game long. I do think there should be more of a reward for revealing him though. He doesn't even care when he's revealed at the moment because nobody cares precisely where he is when they know someone's being chased away, and for the person being chased it might situationally be useful around shack or something but probably won't be.

I don't mean to make this sound dismissive but don't have a lot to respond with. It's an interesting part of learning Sadako that you can strategically teleport to TVs to disable them for shorter periods of time and that is a form of control the killer has, but that still leaves them disabled for 40 seconds, that's not something Springtrap has to deal with. He doesn't need to think about them at all, there's no strategy to using them and survivors can't do anything to stop them from being used, and they're always available 100% of the time. They just seem superior to Sadako's TVs to me. I don't think much of condemned either as a secondary objective or a threat to be honest, but I don't play against her very often and probably haven't played against a really good Sadako.

In a game where the survivors are playing like this, you just have to leave slugs and carry on chasing whoever's lurking nearby to go for the planned pallet save or flashlight save, whatever. Gens are done much more slowly in this games and the one or two guys doing them then have to come when there's two slugs, and things quickly unravel for them. They will continously pick each other up it keeps all four of them on the backfoot and they slowly lose ground. It's all still very tedious but if you respond properly to these players, they're just choosing to lose slowly.

I will believe you but it has genuinely never been a problem for me. Maybe they never went down in the proper position when trying to set it up against me. After eating the stun and carrying on the chase, the original survivor who stunned me would be exhausted and if they are still running after the chase would never come close to recovering to do another head on stun, so a third survivor would have to come to perform yet another head on stun. I would just have to eat that one too. In this really silly hypothetical I guess it could go on forever as there may always be one survivor of the three who isn't exhausted if my chases are taking long enough. I do have to say that I have faced countless coordinated bully squads and have thousands of hours playtime as killer and have never been in this situation. Again I do have to say too that I have never been unable to open a locker in front of a slug so the positioning might have to be quite precise.

It's mainly just about recognizing when a killer is slugging. A lot of the time people assume 'oh he just has to break a pallet / vault a window / kick a gen, that's why he's not picking up' and stay on a gen or whatever when that gives the killer extra time to down someone else and then all of a sudden you're down two people. That and don't hover around the downed survivor waiting to run in and pick them up, and don't pick up in front of the killer.
