Immediate goal for this week is to set up my hotbars. I started doing this on some jobs the other day, tried them, and I'm not sure how I feel about the change. I've gone from using plain, shift+ and alt+ to plain, shift+ and ctrl+. Changing it from having my little finger and thumb pressing keys to my little finger working overtime moving between keys. It's something I need to get used to, but I think the position of some binds that I use frequently needs to change, because I move my hand around a lot more than I have.
Modding related, I've managed to get the gen3 eve body to look very close to how I used to have it before DT arrived, so now I'm satisfied with the character body. I also downloaded a bunch of vanillla gear upscales for both male and female characters, updated them for DT and went through each one of them to check if they worked and adjusted settings as needed. Next up on the modding side is to set up my old reshade preset and combine it with a good preset an anon shared here or in the aco threads many moons ago.

I pair up big mits with little mits, like Shadow Wall with Reprisal, then Rampart and maybe Arms Length once those are over. Abyssal Drain is like a one-time Bloodwhetting, then just TBN on cooldown. I dunno if I'm hard to heal or not, but I've never died from trash or had to pop Living Dead, so I imagine I'm doing good enough. The alliance raid glam was actually better than initially thought with how they dye and work with some other pieces. I still people using it as glam, though less than Pantheon stuff (which is only a single alliance raid out of 3 so far and no one uses the other EW raid stuff)
And just the .0 crafted weapons alone is better than every other expac of .0 weapons combined.
The first tier of weapons has a lot of amazing ones, like the MCH being one of the absolute best MCH weapons ever.
This is by far the best expac we've gotten for glam when it's not even finished. It's about as good as SB+ShB combined currently when it's not even done. Are you forgetting the Bouncer stuff? My thoughts are that there's certain content that gets implemented a LOT lately that ONLY a tiny segment of the player base can even do, and that content being the obvious focus over the past few updates has had an alienating effect on the more casual base. When money, time, and energy goes into MSQ, it makes sense: EVERYBODY does the MSQ. This is content that everyone is going to experience, so yeah, put your money into it. I've never lumped "MSQ" into a "casual vs hardcore" mindset for this reason. If anything, it just feels mandatory and borderline non-applicable for the discussion.

But when money, time, and energy goes into an Ultimate, it's like, alright, you just poured a ton of resources into something that some single-digit % of the community will even do. And then they'll make multiple. And then they'll also make anticipated content be discord raidslop and alienate more people that way. All this content that could've been shit that everyone could enjoy effectively got turned into this shit that a vast majority of the game's playerbase didn't get to do, leading to patches that have, on the whole, felt underwhelming unless you stay subbed to "collect orchestrions" or whatever other stupid shit you dreamt up in your retarded ass list.

And it wouldn't even matter if they just had some casual equivalent for the vast majority of the game's population to enjoy while the raiders are enjoying their buffet. A normal mode of chaotic. A normal mode of FT. But then we get to hear shit like "sorry, OC runners! We ran out of time to make a normal FT!" and it's like they're literally using limited time to make content that 5% of the players can even run. This shit is retarded and it's why less people are playing. Nobody gives a shit about beast tribes, you do them in like 2 minutes. Nobody's subbing for a new hat. The meat of the content that excites people has been largely for hardcore raiders who aren't even 30% of the game's base.

When they're done right, alliance raids can be quite enjoyable. IMO, it boils down largely to the mechanics of the fights though. It doesn't have to be hard. As long as the mechanic is interesting to engage with in some way, I'm down to clown. I really like how on Dun Scaith, the fights are trying to knock you over the edge on the first boss. I like how Scathach and Diabolos are done as well. Orbonne has some fun shit to engage with, but some of it is autistic as fuck like timing your gap closers/Rescue/Between The Lines to skip the Ultima Maze and dumb shit like that. Admittedly, I haven't enjoyed an alliance raid since Puppets Bunker, and I only really liked PB because the second boss lets you murder other alliances, and the third boss (when it lives long enough) can do some crazy shit.

I really hoped, in that vein, that "chaotic alliance raid" content would be a take on alliance raids with those thoughts in mind. Even if it were just an "unreal" situation where we get old alliance raids with our current kit, maybe they could've made the mechanics come out faster, or be more interesting or something. Instead we just got a single boss in a large arena. Essentially just a raid. And honestly, I would've been fine with this, except they had to keep calling it an alliance raid so it got me excited for something else entirely. But yeah, an allyraid done right is easily my favorite type of content in this game. I just enjoy watching lots of people run around and get murdered though.

People say that about most of the content this game offers. It's not like savage raiders go back in after their reclears for the love of the fight or something. But yeah idk, I might also be autistic because I can rerun a good allyraid a LOT before getting sick of it. Dungeons, not so much. But allyraids when they're actually enjoyable, I really like. I really genuinely was hyped for chaotic allyraids to be a retelling of alliance raids we'd already done but with sped up mechanics and our level 100 kit. You really have no idea how disappointed I was when I learned that it was just more raidershit. And then imagine going from that to looking forward to a foray and learning that there'd be no DRN equivalent this time around. If I seem pissed in my posts, it's not at you; it's at the whole situation. I'm tired of constantly being let down in these dogshit ass updates.

The last time I can remember when we had a fight where the main tells were based on the boss' movement and forced people to look up from their bars, people lost their fucking minds. My point is that the game needs more amusement park sort of content like Fall Guys without the shitty netcode.
It needed to let you queue that with friends, not solo only because muh achievement value.
The content in this game is so stale. Every dungeon is virtually exactly the same except for the visual. And Alliance Raid is just a dungeon with 24 people.
The only interesting content they DO add is the more difficult content where it takes a lot longer to learn and perfect it and the rewards are better. That's not to say that's the only interesting content they can possibly add, it's just the only interesting content they do actually add.

They added new jump puzzles to gold saucer a while back, but they were fucking god awful, much worse than the older ones.
They could do simple things like make sigh seeing log more difficult and make much more fun jump puzzles in them. The Tuliyollal jump puzzle tower was fun a few times at least but you got nothing for it.
There's a lot they could do but they have no clue what they're doing to be able to make fun and lasting casual content.

Those people are really close to quitting. I was in that boat a while back. They're running that shit because they like the way the job plays, but they don't have anything that feels worth doing or that they feel like they can reasonably accomplish. This could be due to simple skill level, or time constraints, or whatever.
Anyway, once they get bored with the playstyle of the jobs, they usually stop playing altogether. I haven't done a roulette besides expert in so fucking long, and I really only do expert because I like watching flare/flare star blow up trash as BLM. And even then, I barely do Expert because it's just the same 2 shitty dungeons.

idk, you guys ask how people can enjoy that stuff. My answer is they aren't. You've seen the sub dropoff. People are absolutely taking your advice and leaving/doing other shit.
