Two-hand. dual wield jump attacks is theoretically better but only if both weapons are of the same type to powerstance properly, and both are really good. So you have to basically be feasting on good drops for it to work out better.
On average you'll do less damage dual wielding a legendary and a blue together than just 2handing a purple or the legendary.
Not only that but jump attack spam gets old really fast, and the 2h running attack is really fun.

This everdark business is gonna be difficult for From to strike a balance with
Adel is virtually impossible with randoms, but their signature is that you have extremely limited ways to communicate with people you play with to keep some sort of ephemeral quality to the connections
You can't really solo carry Adel either because if you don't know what he does like 80% of people playing he is just going to perma down you and at that point you're playing solo against a 300% health boss
But at the same time it's a good challenge when playing with people that do know what they are doing or when you're in comms. The problem is that the overwhelming majority of the playerbase doesn't play like that, and if you can't beat the special bosses with randoms then the game will just die

I guess we will know with the next Everdark boss. It's hard to balance honestly because if randoms can casually drop him without knowing anything then it's going to be a total joke for 3 players that understand what he does.

Eh adel is really not that tough, didn't take long to get to point where I can solo him in multiplayer without getting hit with reasonable consistency. The only ones I'm not confident in are everdark augur, caligo, pest, and heolster. I can carry against pest as it is now but it's pushing it with how much of an endurance test it is along with the poison clouds, everdark will push it past that threshold I'm anticipating. Augur and Caligo should also be obvious why they'd be tough.

The damage is the same, but the DPS is higher because the L1s are actually faster than the dogshit unique moveset, deal more poise damage, and are much better at proccing successive attack effects.

You can even combine a legendary with a grey weapon.

I've solo'd giga adel in random queue with executor from around 50-60% of his health with both other players triple bar'd by then. But on the second day he was out I did it as well for erg with him at 40%~. His moveset is not that complicated to nail down, though there's some unintuitiveness to certain attacks. We've had to put up with far harder in base elden ring and the dlc, don't forget that.

This is why I never stopped playing Recluse after going through everyone's Remembrance.
She's so easy to carry with, if you know what you're doing you'll never have a run where you do "bad" damage. She has so many Sorceries and Incantation options you're guaranteed to get something good, be it purple/yellow or something you upgrade to purple yourself. Amount of players don't matter either

Playing Ironeye at close range is far more effective than long range.

Altus Plateau should have been the last large open world area.
The open world parts of Mohg's Blood area and the two snowfield areas were frankly boring if you had been fully exploring the game all the way until them.
The long foggy path post-capital city should have ended at Castle Sol's gates, and Castle Sol's back exit guarded by the Commander's boss arena should have led to a wide plateau on a cliff where you fight Fire Giant.
The entrance to the Haligtree should have been a riddle/secret hidden in Castle Sol somewhere.
All that together would have really cleaned up the endgame without it feeling like it just dragged on forever with repeat enemies over and over.

Guardian is my favorite class but I rarely feel helpful when playing it. It feels like I deal way less damage and because of how aggro or threat work in this game, there is no such thing as really "holding aggro". Even with gems that say you will be targeted more. It doesn't seem to happen much. Am I missing something? I also feel pidgeon holed into using the extended whirlwind gem and the gem that makes your ult heal and give like cool down reduction.

I personally like moth relic/hoarfrost stomp relic/heal from roar relic. Hoarfrost carries the first day and can end you in 100+ kills easy since you can one shot groups even at lvl 1.
Day 2 I go status man, if I find rot I spec into it and frost typically. For the nightlord however I just spam my weapon art and whatever status works. Dex weapons have a lot of stupidly good weapon arts that are low fp and very spammable especially if you just ignore weapons on day one and go for fp perks

Recluse can carry plenty because you're guaranteed to have one of the highest DPS characters in the game, bloodsong is a good ability and good players shouldn't be getting downed so the only effect immortal march ends up having is damage buff with a relic. I could make the same arguments that certain cocktails trivialize fights left and right which is probably more helpful than summons grabbing some aggro here and there while doing pitiful damage, and Recluse has plenty of utility as well. With some spells she can even be one of the best revivers in the game with Cannon of Haima giving her basically a Ironeye ult on a basic staff.
Sorceries are also generally much better than incants and it's just about impossible for her to not hit at least one or two good spells per run.

I don't think Revenant is bad but Recluse is definitely better.

they really threw everything at the wall when designing immortal march when you actually break down what it does, and it comes back up very, fast because revenant does damage, you just don't think that because most revenants hold their ult for the downs
revenant is also the best reviver in the game with her basic weapon, and incantations are far more abusable than sorceries for the majority of the run because everything either is very weak to fire or lightning for the most part, you just have to go find them real fast then a few starlights, this isn't a particularly arduous task
summons are also crazy abusable, sebastian can straight up just aggro adel for a whole minute and survive, he literally won't die as long as you desummon him during the headbutt lightning ripples and keep on tanking grabs cause they don't do enough damage to him
you can use summons to break several bosses AI and cause them to do things that make them way more targetable, like red wolf of radagon or all the dodgey bosses, on top of being able to cheese immobile bosses or stunlock medium sized bosses

Miasma + Wise are great for that.
Just going to Frost and Poison camps will often reward you with double status weapons that already had innate bleed.
Night of the Wise also gives you more FP, so you can spam skills against things immune to status effects.
Frost in particular is great because 7/8 nightlords can be inflicted with it, and Chilling Mist has a ton of buildup.

Rot is the ultimate status effect, it triggers all poison-related buffs and everything is vulnerable to it, so rot forest is by far the best Shifting Earth for Executor.

Mines are fine if they're used as a route, like going through them to do the stuff on the other side.
They're REALLY nice when the circle closes in and you can use the mine's direction as a way to get into the middle circle AND get a smithing stone 2

They almost always fit easily into routes being either near churches, evergaols, or that double boss jump pad section in the middle of the map, take no time whatsoever and another underrated aspect is the miners are high rune density if you have elemental damage like the wraith calling bell or a holy bow ironeye or some shit to one tap mobs.

Early purple speeds up every subsequent camp, makes it so you have something guaranteed decent for the final boss. An on hit upgraded blue to purple is better than a natural purple. Since you get it early too it informs your loot decisions, you never have to pass up something great for fear of bricking your run with a mid weapon, since you always have something solid.

I was the opposite, I started with the mindset that mines will guarantee a purple weapon so it's a safe bet and helps clear the camps faster.
