the attempt to tie the missions into something resorting a campaign is feeble but if you put yourself in the shoes of a new player, it feels way more coherent and non-random. especially because the event cutscenes like moebian steel or carnival invasion have been incorporated into the old leveling system. the seniors actually go from calling you trash to calling you legit as you progress. if i were a newfag, i would now feel like the game at least put it an effort to create a sense of narrative progression.

Now that I'm not in game anymore, use picrel to absolutely RAPE bosses. I don't think I've had a monstrosity survive longer than like 7 seconds between burn, bleed, and +50% monstrosity damage in the arby's tree. I'd recommend you also go maniacs because of ragers & trappers.

This update would've been much better if they had included actual content in the free update. Like new weapons for other classes and a new mission that forwards the story.

Only thing we got was a class that's ogryn+vet with a dog, made of rehashed talents.
And the devs also proceeded to completely fuck up the mission board for no fucking reason and arguably this rework didn't fix anything and just made shit worse.
Even the new "story mode" is mediocre as fuck, it's just all of the previous missions we've all played through lined up in order, aka it's fucking nothing. I 100% recommend you skip the entire story campaign it is a waste of fucking time. Just watch the cutscenes/whatever dialogue on youtube.

Arguably no. Nothing really special or new. The new weapons are just rehashed versions of pre-existing weapons. Like the arby shotguns are quite literally just combat shotguns and work exactly the same. The new melee weapons are all just shock mauls which is nothing new.

It's definitely not as necessary in Darktide compared to VT2, but it can still be very handy. Depends on your weapon and what's going on. Dump stat just refers to the 1 of the 5 stats that is the lowest priority to have maxed. A fully empowered weapon at 500 power will have 80/80/80/80/60 of the stat bars filled, dump stat is the 60. Usually mobility is the dump stat of almost every weapon because the difference between 60% and 80% mobility is extremely negligible.

The "dump stat" is the most useless (up to interpretation/play style per person) of the weapon. In my image I used warp resistance as the dump stat for my force sword (I should go back and try to get one with 60% as the max for the dump stat, which would bring mobility to 80%).
These numbers are RNG when you receive the weapon, and their max is achieved by upgrading the weapon at hadron.

The most common way to get the weapon you want is to go to the weapon store and buy a shit ton until you get the stats you want, then go upgrade it.

My assumption is they originally planned to offer paid classes+a few free ones 1 per quarter (emphasis on planned, doubtless they would have missed deadlines) but after the disastrous launch they scrapped it and reworked them into the talent trees as a free update. the U5 had faces and designs and backstories though. the soldiers we saw in the trailer were *literally* faceless because of their masks obscuring covering their heads and looked identical because of the uniform, i can’t really see how that would have been conductive to making a memorable cast of characters

I might actually go back to my favourite combo, Assault chainsword + Heavy Stub crit revolver but add in dog support. The +25% damage to shocked enemies is really nice though on the shock mauls, especially since your dog procs it too

Crusaders are just random nobles affiliated with the Ecclesiarchy who work as bodyguards for Ministorum priests and other bigshots like Rogue Traders or Inquisitors. They're really not that much different from the Zealot besides having a more aristocratic background, so the easy way is just to give their power sword and board to the Zealot.

Yes, but that statement is missing important context. Their original plan was to have talent trees like we have currently, but they weren't able to finish them before release because Sweden lmao. Instead, we got the barebones Vermintide style class talents at release, but unlike Vermintide that launched with 15 of these, Darktide only had 4. Their original plan was to rush out as many of these that they could in order to catch up and pretend they had a full product ready. However, somewhere along the way they went back to finishing their original plan to have full talent trees for each class rather than 3 minimalist trees per archetype.
Those "free post release classes" they promised were just going to be 5 rows of talents where you chose 1 of 3 options from each row. Fatshark fucks up a lot of things, but what they ended up delivering for class talent trees was far superior to that initial panicked promise.

I've been using Full Bore + High Voltage on my taser shotgun with Flak and Unyielding. Pop it with one taser shell then just unload your entire clip, does a nutty amount of damage to bosses.

On the fence about buying DLC
It looks good but I predict Darktide will die again within a month. Imo the new character is not enough to revitalise interest in the game, we didn't even get anything new for the other characters so everyone will play Arbiters and the game will die again
