From all the bitching about orchis day1, the amount of portal players seems to really have gone the fuck down with the sudden influx of aggro because all the new decks that try to win before turn 10 really shit on artifact since they struggle to deal with the hyper aggresive

im in A3 and just hit Diamond with 200 wins as Midrange sword, Rune is by far the hardest matchup for me. I probably have a 20% win rate in that matchup

I really like playing Haven. The whole healing and being reactive to the enemies board is fun. Then there is the huge tempo shift once Lapis comes out and is a constant threat forever and the enemy starts to run out of gas. You just endure and make favorable trades until they’re spent and they start getting desperate throwing everything at you while you just buff and heal Lapis for free.

That's a nerf, no matter how you slice it, and pure puppet suddenly stops working if you do that. I've pondered the idea of needing to have enough dead puppet cards to make her come online to make her slightly worse in artifact, but you can just run a few puppet cards to make up for that.
The cheap and dirty way of making her work only for puppet would mean she doesn't come online if you have 3- 4 artifacts played.

Orchis is fine powerlevel wise. She is that strong because she was designed for Puppet, which sucks. Just restrict her to Puppets somehow. You shouldn't be able to use her in the Artifact deck.

Honestly I’m just having a lot of fun with this game and wanted to post something positive about it after seeing all the negative reviews.

I’ll freely admit that I’m not a FTP player, but I haven’t spent a ton (only $200) and I’m really enjoying the fast-paced experience and play styles so far.

I’ve never played the original Shadowverse so I’m not doing a direct comparison here. I will say however that compared to the CCGs/TCGs I’m used to (Hearthstone, MTG including physical) the cost here really doesn’t seem out of line from what I’m accustomed to with this genre. Again, not comparing to the original, just the experience of a totally new player.

I was going to wait longer to write a post like this so I could speak with more gameplay experience, but I have a few decks built with reasonable success and am having a ton of fun, and because I almost didn’t start this game because of some of the negative posts I wanted to write from my experience to encourage other new players to try it out!

The only problem with puppet/artifact is that your hand gets crowded way too easily and if you are not careful you might miss a draw. Puppet theater is a big offender here.
