I tend to like books a bit more understated. The premise is interesting though, a gig orchestrated by a client who wants these specific, seemingly unrelated amateurs to pull it off while monitored and helped by a highly skilled netrunner. Second chapter starts to delve into the personal lives of each character and that has me intrigued. It'll be a quick read so I'll probably finish it.
It uses the same slang as the game and something about it kind of gets on my nerves. It's not unbearable but just kind of rubs me the wrong way, it's too loud, if you know what I mean. William Gibson isn't light on slang but his feels sleek and natural, imo.

Each faction needed a handful of interactable NPCs with short side quests/romances. Even just 1 guy and 1 girl per gang with a platonic/romantic quest chain and come to my house interactability would have them sitting comfortably at skyrim numbers. Seems modders tried but just don't have the tools or VA access to fill these gaps in world fidelity. Outside the Rita wheeler mod and Lizzie's BrainDances there really isn't anything else (for 2.21) that flushes out night city.

It isn't until the planned assault on arisaka that'd you'd ever see rogue has more connections and favors to call on than someone like akiko. A quest chain early on where you as a small time merc have a job that runs counter to a much bigger fixers much bigger mercenaries job would show that.

The game never gives you a Rogue Tier fixer doing Rogue tier fixer things outside of the main quest, but from what they do establish there is a world of Rogue level fixers who aren't interested in employing you. The only window you get into it is the Job you pay for; those other fixers implicitly also orchestrating events on par with your assault on the solar farm/downing the kang tao EV while regina/mumar/akiko/padre/etc. are having you roll over bookies for stolen glass eyes.

There is untold damage done by the credits conversations for every other side character. Misty consistently treats your actions with grace, understanding, and appropriate personal sadness ...except for the devils ending, but CDPR is a vengeful and retarded DM when you disobey them. Even there Vic takes over to smooth out the whole "you work with the people who killed jackie, give her time" instead of having her reeeee at you like panam over a missed phone call.
