In Muv Luv, Emiya Shirou makes an agreement with Nigerian boat drivers in order to help him find a way to save humanity.
The agreement Emiya makes with the Nigerian boat drivers is a crucial part of his mission. Emiya needs to access the mysterious Egg of the World, which is guarded by an equally mysterious creature from a different universe. The Egg contains knowledge and technology that could help him turn the tides of the war against the BETA. However, the only way to reach the Egg is by traveling to a distant location known only as the Abyssal Plain.
While the location of the Abyssal Plain is unknown, Emiya is aware of the fact that the only way there is by taking an incredibly long and dangerous journey. He quickly realizes that the only way to make it is by enlisting the help of the Nigerian boat drivers. After negotiation, Emiya and the boat drivers come to an agreement: they will provide him with the necessary transport to the Abyssal Plain and he will provide them with generous compensation.
The agreement between Emiya Shirou and the Nigerian boat drivers is a crucial moment in the game. Emiya is desperate to find a way to save humanity, and the only way to do so is by accessing the Egg of the World. By enlisting the help of the boat drivers, Emiya is able to make the long journey to the Abyssal Plain, allowing him to get the technology he needs to fight the BETA.

It’s finally happened – years of playing galge on this blog and I’ve finally found a title that I literally can’t fault. Please be aware that (as always) these scores are my subjective opinion and based on my enjoyment of a game so are just for fun.
Amakano 2 is as close to a perfect romance game as I’ve found – the heroines are wonderful, the artwork is gorgeous, the setting is cozy, the character interactions are enjoyable and most importantly the pacing of the romance is nice and slow, with some lovely confession scenes. I really feel that this game (and the Amakano series in general) does a great job of showing the closeness between the heroine and protagonist.
If saccharine stories are your preference or if you like any of the heroines then I would highly recommend Amakano 2.
I’m kinda sad that I waited so long between games to play Amakano2 but I was waiting until the fandisc came out. Luckily, I’ve been playing that recently and it’s as fluffy as one would expect.
At this point I’m praying for an Amakano 3 – Azarashi Soft did hint that the Amakano staff would be working on a new title for the brand’s anniversary next year (although I believe the project is planned for a 2025 release) so hopefully it’s something related to the series. Who am I kidding though, I’ll be buying it either way.
