My first xenoverse 2 character was a male majin. The novelty of playing as a silly out of place character made the game more enjoyable, I think. When I finally tried to play as other races, I realized that they all look goofy as fuck and contrast horribly when the regular characters. Not gonna lie, I really wish we'd just get budokai tenkaichi 4 (made properly and not UE5 slop) but that's never happening and its development to be a good game would probably take like 5+ years.

2027 at the earliest. At this rate, Future Saga 4 comes out mid-2026, and they won't replace the game right after giving it a DLC.:If XV3 is in the works, they won't even announce it before FS4 launches.

I expect things to just keep going with DLCs and updates, no major release in 2026. They never took 2 years off since 2002, so I think we should reasonably get something 2027 (maybe XV3), but with the state of the franchise, who knows. Presumably no new projects have been greenlit since late 2023 when the rights war started (it was before Toriama's death even), so I believe we're going by sheer inertia. But anything that wasn't in advanced development might have been effectively postponed (pure speculation but not entirely baseless).

When you levelled up characters by playing matches and getting the character's tokens you got to choose limited characters to unlock, so you'd get to pick 1 of 4 for example and they did this a few times but it's not tied to the battle pass. Not really. Daima was made by Toei and had the GT guy working on it so of course they're gonna use GT elements, it was their own work and they stated they hoped to make people who grew up with GT happy with it.
It was pure luck that Toriyama got involved with such enthusiasm, which resulted in the show going from some small streaming service thing to a mainline show that got its own spot on Fuji TV.
Honestly after the Flaming Kamehameha, it was a MASSIVE waste to not have the Kamehameha be an even more flaming one that turns into a red kamehameha when Goku goes all out and pierce Gomah.

After over 120 hours of work I colored every base game character and outfit, as well as from DLC and dozens of mods but it's not based on the color edition or anything like that, I've tried to base it primarly on Toriyama's own art but using internal logic to deviate and come up with "accurate" colors (ie: Saiyans are meant to be tanned so even if Toriyama only colored Caulifla once and she looked pretty white, she has the same tan as other saiyans instead. You lot keep saying this but even people who have watched Daima and GT will tell you it’s nothing like either one. Its pacing is worse than both, and most of the journey is spent learning nothing and doing nothing in a desert. Most of the objective of the adventure wasn’t even completed by them, and the journey didn’t help them grow as characters like it did for OG. And by the way, as of these past two weeks they’ve also thoroughly dropped the adventure aspect just like GT did in favor of the most generic form of shonen action. Gomah doesn’t even use magic spells or whatever, he just does punches and the occasional eye beam. If the actual point of Daima was the adventure, it would’ve mattered more both in universe and to the audience. But as I’m sure you know, the most discussion Daima has ever had anywhere has been these past two weeks when a form Daima didn’t even invent showed up in the most unceremonious manner.

Look, I don’t hate Daima, but the plot is really weak. It’s just another ‘rescue Dende’ adventure, super predictable and not that interesting. They introduce magic and demons, but instead of fully exploring these themes, they just skim the surface. Why not dive into the white and dark arts, the Demon Kings, or the magic itself? Instead, we get more demon androids. The one standout part of this series was Marba. She should’ve been the main villain, they should've focused more on her, for fuck's sake, SHE CREATED MAJIN BUU. A witch, holding all the secrets of forbidden magic, abilities that could rival gods. I’m not just making this up, either. This kind of lore exists in folklore and mythology, so it’s frustrating to see it all go to waste. It’s hard to believe Toriyama hasn’t read anything like The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, or Harry Potter. We could’ve had dark, evil books like the Necronomicon, leading to villains way more powerful than Majin Buu. It’s just such a missed opportunity, and it honestly sucks.

Adventure DB is always ruined by one thing: Goku is too fucking strong. This was legitimate a criticism people had with OG DB and is why they loved the fighting. Goku effortlessly defeated all his random enemies unless they had magic tricks (why do we still remember Boss Rabbit for example but not any of the other episodic jobbers). At least it was fun to see a goofy Toriyama take on China.
GT did the same thing. They needed Goku and didn't let him use Super Saiyan against opponents he could still easily take out with his base form. At least the planets were fun to see.
Daima did the same shit but without the fun locations. Goku one shots everything, so all we have are the characters, and the characters suck. Panzy is just a generic Toriyama sassy girl but a loli. Glorio is just a generic stoic dude. Shin is the same boring neurotic jobber as ever. Goku started out okay but now he's Super Goku and no one likes Super Goku.
It would be fine since we're making new relationships with these characters, but they're nothing characters. Despite being a brat, Pan was at least related to Goku and they had a preexisting relationship they could play off, and Trunks was basically male Bulma and Giru was, I dunno, there.

Gero never captured Lapis and Lazuli, but Krillin found and befriended them (and Konkichi) fairly early on. They're purely human in this. Lazuli went to Namek because Krillin and Lapis (and Piccolo) died when Lord Slug and Turles attacked Earth, so she wanted to be there to bring them back. She was one of the people that got displaced.

We just managed to salvage some of the Fruit of the Tree of Might from when Turles attacked, and instead of having one person chow down on a single fruit for a massive single power boost we worked it into a something with a smaller but more spread out boost through mixing it in with Senzu, Sacred Water, and some other stuff.

Aside from those, Salagir's ideas are really basic. He even made other characters have traits of Cell saga Vegeta in Vegetto (Arrogant jobber who seethes whenever things don't go his way), and Bra (Also arrogant, but unlike Vegeta, she never eats shit for making terrible decisions).

The guys from the tech universe are an okay enough idea, but them all having the same weapons, expertise, personality and wearing the exact same armor makes them bland and interchangeable. Salagir doing everything he can to sideline them also means they'll never stop being bland.

Well, Vegeta faced Broly five times in DBM (Broly's two movies in the main universe, king Bardock universe, Broly's own universe, and during the tournament as one of Raichi's ghosts), and Vegeta lost three fights but won two, in the King Bardock universe, but in that one it was because the black goo killed Broly, and in the the tournament, where the Vegeta from Schizoku's universe simply killed him before he went beyond a normal super saiyan.

So the Vegetafagging is below the Brolyfagging in terms of power, but on the other hand, Broly is never anything beyond a powerful monster, while the Vegetafagging is more of, other characters get undermined in favor of Vegeta, it's not as "loud" as the Brolyfagging, but it's there more constantly than the Brolyfagging. I tried to play the Naruto game last month. It felt like one of those old flash web games, and early on the attacks are all stolen from the Storm games. The OP game plays so much better, on top of having in-engine cutscenes at the start, cutscenes for the boss battles, and a plethora of mini games.

The cgi trailers for the new characters keep making me want to try it again. Is there a certain point in the game where it gets a boost in quality?

It's one of those games where you have to get through the first few years of content to get the good looking characters and better attacks.
Once you reach the Jianghu AU content, it should be better than the One Piece game's latest content.
