Up until it has a lasting effect. Kris doesn't do anything to stop snowgrave until it goes too far (thornring and berdly's death). That's when he starts to realize that he's dealing with a malevolent entity who will do much worse to others than even he would.
Since he would already know that the darkners are only illusions, it's likely he doesn't have any issue with killing them, either.

I don't think you played the game? Undertale's whole thesis statement is taking the gamification of its world seriously. So fighting and killing is as easy as completing a timed minigame for you, the characters treat it as if you've actually killed a person. Flowey specifically explicitly is actively encouraging you to treat the game as a game, he treated the game as a game in the past, and the game doesn't really fault him for it. The genocide route is about the mentality that because you can, you have to, and about reducing a game down to One Thing.

This remains true in DELTARUNE. The game has a little happy moment each chapter if you recruit everyone, but you HAVE to fight the knight, and the titan. Killing Darkners is actively emphasized not to have the same moral weight killing lightners has. Violence is treated very differently than snowgrave is. Ramb is framed as good by the narrative, so the game really isn't taking the stance that it's bad to rpg.

The regular encounter darkners really feel like theyre only there because Toby needed fights to remind you it was an rpg this time around.
