I’m having a roadblock with my alt-history Chinese colonies in the Americas scenario as I have to fact check every detail the AI generates to ensure historical accuracy and re-writing every nitpick. My character is a documenter who travels from colonial outposts, to tributary cities, documenting food and what delicious crops and animals can be incorporated into the chinese diet.

Thinking of going back to NAI. Never tried Erato, I never had issues with prose in Kayra, mainly just consistency (what clothes are worn, basic positions in scenes) and the AI 'getting' the point of the scene, like, this person is manipulating this other person for this reason, it never really leaned on that or developed it, it only followed direct instruction with AN or by me writing a ton of the story.
Is it worth the extra 15 bucks, or is it just extra vocabulary?

What is your text gen / img gen setup?
My game is getting slow as shit and I think its the newer updates and adding of features just giving it too much work to do but have no real idea what the fuck is going on in the backend.
I'm using DeepSeek-V3-0324 hosted on chutes.ai for text gen and various stable horde models for images, but every model i try out seems to be slow as fuck for images.

>>528868814Lots of us here play it. Well, not a lot of people here, so I mean like 3 or 4 of us. AIRL is a very thin wrapper around a bunch of prompts, so any delay you experience is due to text and image gen times, not the very tiny application itself.
Some people swear by DeepSeekV3 for the text, but I bought a few dollars worth on OR and it feels too slow for my tastes. The free text option is blazing fast, I'm pretty sure he must be using Gemini Flash for it. I just stick to that. One option if you want to use smarter V3 for worldbuilding is to just let it run for a long time at the start on V3 to let it initialize everything, and then swap to normal textgen for gameplay, I dunno, worth a try if the wait is unbearable during actual gameplay.
For images, I use local Illustrious SDXL without much problem (I rarely need to wait on images, 12GB VRAM, just point it to localhost with your comfyui port), but others use NAI and seem to be happy with the speed they get. For the record, I don't think imagegen ever slows down 'the gameplay', any slowdowns in gameplay are due to textgen, there are placeholder images for everything on imagegen's side.

In the early textgen days I would write 90% of the story. Now, since models are smart enough to manage a scene beat, I let them do most of the work. However, they don't get the style right, and I feel like my own writing ability has suffered since I mostly end up editing their text.

I'm using MikuPad with KoboldCpp and a Mistral-Nemo-Instruct model.
The initial template has no memory and instead only starts off with this (pic).
If I edit what's here it starts generating text and works great until around 1024 tokens give or take. Sometimes less, I assume when it feels like the story is "finished". It won't continue even if I add something like "Chapter 2" at the end. All it adds sometimes is a "(To be continued...)".
Max content length in the UI is set to the default 8192 and max predict token is -1 (1024).
Moving the system prompt part to the memory changes nothing. Changing max predict token to higher numbers also changes nothing.
I tried to tick <ignore EOS> and it starts generating gibberish.

New NAI textgen model specs got leaked, it’s a MOE 700b inhouse model with a 196k context window thanks to the dev team utilising most of the optimisation techniques shown in many AI research papers.
