Any game, even an MMO, needs a refresh once a fucking decade and I don't think this is some wild or crazy god damn concept to throw out there. WoW needed a WoW 2 however many years ago, XIV needed an XIV-2 where DT is instead.
The coding problems, the "we can't really wring anything else out of this setting" problems, the absolute completely different gameplay between ARR/HW and the rest of the game, problems in the early game with player retention because it's quite literally a "It gets *slightly better* gameplay wise 20 hours from the start" type of issue where the only thing they could do to "fix" it was to make it fucking F2P.
A rank hunts have been broken for the greater portion of a decade or an outright decade now, old systems like command squadrons were remade with trusts then remade again for Duty Supports, high player count absolutely eviscerates the entire game by fucking with not only the gameplay but the literal graphical playability since the engine doesn't handle it for shit, it's in the phase of "post game" story wise for a FF where the "Attack" command is all 9999s and there's no real way to change that hence why there will never be another long term antagonist, this shit was on PS3 which ended compatibility with PS4 and now it's reaching the point where the PS4 version will end compatibility for PS5.

What exactly is weird about having a social media page for your character in a game that you likely spend hundreds of hours of playtime in over the course of several years and may or may not engage in stuff like roleplay or creating art and stoylines for said "barbie doll".
Using social media is a good way to find likeminded people that are into the same aspects of XIV that you are, or they can simply use used to dump screencaps and clips of your XIV experience, kind of like how people are already using the thread. You can also use it to find XIV content creators/artists and RT their stuff to your page, and have a feed that's entirely XIV stuff rather than putting everything XIV related on your main and flooding followers that don't know or care about XIV stuff with screencaps.
Explain, in detail, what exactly the issue is. People already create social media pages for their pets or other hobbies, what makes XIV any different? Because if I had to guess, you're just going "twitter bad because, it just is okay?"

You can reset a fate and give it a different HP value, but if there's actually people in that area it's only going to skyrocket its HP, which could be a good thing for you if that's your intent, but really it's better for fates to be killed fast since they spawn like 10 seconds after.

What could 8.0 to bring people back, exactly? Whatever big expansion feature will be pushed back an entire year and be some retread of what they've already done. New jobs don't mean shit because most of them play the same, and I doubt whatever reworks they've talked about will be anywhere close to as substantial as they claim. The story could do a complete 180* and be good again which would be enough for some, but speaking purely gameplay wise they've basically well since exhausted whatever creativity or options they have in the engine nobody knows how to properly code for anymore. They'd have to pull a Legion like WoW did and introduce multiple new systems if you want people to look at an MMO that's had its day.
That said, I honestly believe that it's mostly that FFXIV has a skeleton crew after Endwalker. Did you really think everyone in CBU3 that was put on FFXVI went back to FFXIV when it launched? No fucking way. They're probably working on FFXVII which will be a successor to FFXIV in regards to being a live service online game, although likely not a traditional MMO in this day and age.

keep in mind that both fates and CEs use a queue system to spawn, so if 50 people swarm one that spawned with little to no hp, the next one after may also have been one that was killed by a small number of people

It's mind boggling what they did because it just never lines up with what the fates should reasonably be at, but in my experience it absolutely can't be last fate killed even if you take into account a grace period for queue. That's how overworld works and I've done so many of those it's quite obvious OC is not that.

How can you tell me after a year ago when I heard and saw in person the plans for the future of the game when I left that media tour optimistic about the future of the game (In spite of my ex fiance using this as an opportunity to once again crush my heart/soul the night before the actual event lol). Actually fuck it no one will read this deep. That media tour left me so optimistic it helped me with the mental beatings and outright abuse my ex fiance did to me.

Yeah FFXIV and the optimism for FFXIV I had from that media tour helped me push forward. That's how optimistic I was.
And for anyone who hasn't been cheated on, had tens of thousands of dollars of property, had their work auth in the USA lost and them sent back to Canada unable to move to San Diego after landing a 220k/year job and needing to decline that cause "lul work auth", and then experienced mental abuse from their ex fiance tormenting them with the most VICIOUS shit ever-- THAT IS A FUCK TON OF OPTIMISM. And I wouldn't wish the absolute BARRAGE of brutality I experienced on anyone else.
