Falling behind by 10 in a Halo game is frusterating. In CoD, you can straight up lose a match but it's alright because you probably unlocked something or leveled up. CoD has problems of its own though. Not a fan of these 2-year full price offerings, first with MWIII and now by all accounts BO7. The only people getting their money's worth are Game Pass subs imo.

There's some legitimate gripes about SBMM but it's not like that's the big thing scaring people away. CoD is back to where it was in the late 2000s where it's more of a kiddie console base now. We live in a "monopoly" age of gaming, where a select very few titles quite literally have the overwhelming population of the global gaming playerbase. When you're alone, they're a force multiplier. A little buddy watching your back. It really depends on the scenario and what's available to you, but getting a team to be off-balanced is what you want in any case. Lay into somebody super hard even if you can't kill them. It makes them fall back and re- plate and somebody else might rush you, so be ready to have a fresh mag and plan. Even if you can't be an outright threat, taking shots on a group and making them eat up all their armor while staying hidden works well, too. The trick with that is to not let them catch you, though. Stick and move. The goal is to grind them down as much as possible before you start taking people. I suggest picking a character, making sure they have good camo and going in with no weapons just to practice. You won't lose anything significant and you can practice.
