It’s surreal seeing this place this slow like this. I knew the Emma update surge was going to stabilize eventually but just back in the beginning of April we were blazing through 5 threads a day for weeks to the point where I just stopped checking because I couldn’t keep up with the pace. I have to imagine the outage got rid of a lot of the tourists/thread shitters as well. Not all of them, unfortunately.

I believe that this might be a hint of Gladiator coming in next season(s).
The reason is that:
a) It's just weird to drop a quote that's mostly about him like that, usually the quotes are about characters themselves. There are some other instances of other characters being referred in quotes, but I couldn't find an instance where said character isn't already in the game or not a totally irrelevant side character (Admittedly, I only check around half of costume quotes, however)
b) I checked the issue that this costume (at least purportedly) debuts and he doesn't appear in it. The quote in question comes in 276, 3 issues later. I didn't find any "bangers" but she speaks a bit in the issue. So this doesn't seem to be a "well that was the only quotable thing from her in the issue" thing.

Peni, Magneto, Strange, Emma, Groot, and Cap all feel fine to play this season despite the flyer issue. It's mainly just Venom, Hulk, and Thing that feel a lot worse as a result of that. I was never good at playing Thor but I constantly see people dominating matches with him so he must still be viable. Whenever I play Venom/Hulk/Thing I just feel like I die instantly in any engagement without constant focus healing (not happening due to Ultron this season) and I do no damage compared to other tanks.

Its been 8 years since the last game. Wouldn't surprise me if the IP was dead.

I cant stand how this community has a bad habit of invalidating your opinion if you dare question the hivemind samethink. I mean look at the way people reacted towards Jeff's nerf/rework, it was pure negativity and a parade of idiots citing win rates as some enhanced copium.
I constantly saw teams banning Jeff in Celestial because his backlining was so astoundingly cancer so much so that it felt impossible to win against it unless your team of randoms were coordinated which rarely, very rarely happens in this game.
Or the celebration of dive meta replaced or the anger of cap being nerfed going into season 2 and that's right I said dive replaced because I think its still relatively strong and not at all any different, the only difference that you have a lot of players clambering to play Ultron, Iron man and especially Storm/Jeff which obviously makes it harder for any dive other than Spiderman to consistently deal with them.

I dont even think Dive was all that bad last season, It was manageable if your could just peel and be on top of helping the backline but I do think Cap had way too much health and it practically made him a raidboss/stallgod if he got any sort of health pocketing but yet so many people swore by him as if he wasn't at all a problem.

At this point I think its safe to say that there's no way the game will ever be balanced properly. Most of those dive nerf celebrators are begrudgingly giving the poke meta which has been a strong thing since day one a pass just out of pure spite.

"flyer meta" is blatant retard propaganda by dumb cunts who either can't aim or refuse to switch.
game has 3 (three) snipers and a hitscan rifleman with no recoil. even being simply okay with them completely shuts down any flyer. not to mention just swapping to flyers yourselves.
only exception is if u play tank, but then you should be blaming your own dps not the enemy flyers simply for existing.
the reality is quite the opposite. the reason the game feels worse to play is because it has never been MORE poke dominated. they caved and gave in to reddit whining (ie. cant handle just 3 weeks of dive versus 3(three) months of triple support). Dive is also very easily counterable - glass cannon similar to flyers - but again noone wants to switch. probably because the poke heroes are the most boring. plus ego (duh).
when it comes to the trifecta of poke/dive/brawl, the gamestate is at its most fun when brawl is meta, because brawl is the most honest, no bs playstyle.
other reason why le game sukz is same as its always been, which is the shitty matchmaking - which somehow seems to be getting worse?!

I was interested in comics on and off at different points in my life. I read comics in different periods of middle school and high school. I have read the Boys years before the show was announced (And it fucking sucks lol)
Then later, I actually got rather serious about reading capeshit before and around Covid. I have read quite a bit of runs and was active in /co/ (Though I have read mostly DC and relatively little Marvel. I followed a decent chunk of major titles in Rebirth continuity).
I was getting increasingly very dissatisfied with "everything reverts to status quo" crap at the end of the runs and the pervasive, heavy handed American idpol/"DEI" crap however. Then Death Metal happened. It was infuriating to keep up with months of titles, only to get such a dogshit final arc, I stopped being a regular comic reader altogether.
I have very occasional read older stuff, alternative universe stuff and re-read some crap I liked since then but I am mostly out of the game.
I tried a bit to read Marvel a bit after getting into this game but capeshit comics still suck lol.
I am thinking about making a hypothetical DC Rivals roster thread in /v/ or /co/, pulling from my otherwise largely useless knowledge of DC Universe, but that's about it in terms of how it relates to this game I think.

I also used to feel the same way about Sandman, but I recently did a reread and realized Gaiman is kind of a fag to put it lightly, still a cool story but I think Lucifer is better overall (both the story and the character) and didn’t quite beat you over the head with its authors moralizing and biases. All this game needs to really re-invigorate it's numbers is adding a PVE mode. It's so simple.
