the gear issues happen at a very specific part of the leveling process. 1-50 is pretty stable. 50-60 starts to get a little aggressive, but 60-70 the ilvl curve on gear goes fucking vertical, with stat differences between a level 50 piece of gear and a level 70 piece of gear literally being 100x difference. then you get to isle of dorn and every basic mob feels like a fucking raid boss because you may as well not be wearing gear in most of your slots if they havent gotten a very recent upgrade.

you can get around it by, after hitting 70 but before going to isle of dorn, doing world quests around the dragon isles or the emerald dream questline, which reward ilvl 450 gear. but if you try to go straight from your hodge podge leveling greens to the new isle of dorn zone, you are in for a ROUGH time

I think the only time things felt too tanky was in dalarans destruction as the video correctly points out but it wasn't a hurdle and we didn't take long, in general leveling felt too easy and gear felt useless to the point where we began to purposely holding back on equipping new pieces to see if that helped, it didn't, we'd just be able to grab as many mobs as we wanted and kill them with relatively ease.

it's not as deep as you think. Since 9.2 they started to develop seasonal events that are unique and have never been tried before. It's inherently better than what we had before, when WoW would simply have a period of rotting between major patches with zero incentive on anything aside from raiding, mindlessly spamming arenas, and pushing IO. Almost every other popular multiplayer game does events like this now and it's good that WoW has started to embrace more recent game design trends. This is a boon for collectionfags like me and I am excited to possibly never run the dogshit known as spine of deathwing ever again after the next month.
