I use Malevolent and TLD currently and don't need any other weapons really.
You want raw and elemental damage, not crit, for malevolent:
Rifle Reinforcement, "Action and Reaction", Charge Amplification, Fire Rate up, Chill Enhancement/Priority (or toxic as it has that built in already) and for ammo management: Expand Weapon charge and Payout.
Malevolent and fully built last dagger will carry you through almost everything.

For the golds, it's just a matter of re-rolling. Make sure your weapon is at level 100 before you bother investing in weapon rolls though.

Her 2 and 3 play like how people think Jayber plays - you spend 30 seconds setting up snail trails in a room other characters clear in the same 10. In reality, Jayber feels so much better to play because press four buttons setting up 2 turrets you can swap to your gun, meanwhile Valby's APM is entirely taken up skating around doing kick flips. And then by the time your done coating a room, oops, snail trails are drying out time to reapply another layer of paint for the next 30 seconds.
Like fuuuck part of the reason I wanted to play her now is so that I could savour her before the devs ruin her again, but now I'm convinced she needs an intervention from up high to save her.

Like seriously, in terms of gameplay, what does she offer that no one else does. Yeah, yeah, there are some morphs that require infiltrating, but that's not what I mean. Besides, Nell is going to have invisibility. Her 1 has no range, her 2 can pretty much only be used as an escape card, her 3 is a pitiful AoE, and her 4 takes way too long to use. And, sure, there are mods to change the function of all these... but you're still stuck with three other "pointless" abilities. I'm not saying she's worthless trash, just saying she's almost redundant.

Her cloak is escape AND gap close. It's half of what makes her sword useable. Sword is shit though, but atleast you can cloak and use a gun, so this one is fair even at base. Or, you know, it would be if the meta for anything wasn't rapid fire spamming a revolver with bounce blades, a launcher with homing cluster rockets, or LD as fast as possible.
The main gist of her grenades is that they give you an out when your cloak is on cooldown against anything commander size or smaller so that you can slash them safely. Which you'll only need if you fuck up, but hey it's there. It's the other side of making her sword usable. Alas, sword is, as established, kind of shit since you need to spend so much time walking up to enemies to hit them.
And the deal with her 4 is that it can pick off enemies through cover from 100m away. It's prohibitively expensive in terms of cooldown, though (so yeah, metawise, it's shit too). But that one atleast has a unique theoretical niche that doesn't really exist yet.
Sharen has always been my call for worst character in the game back before season 2, controversial I know since outposts were still relevant but she wasn't even that good at outposts if the boss took more than one bullet to the face to kill. And frankly I didn't count those since 90% of *playing* an outpost was watching youtube vids while waiting on cooldowns.

Going invisible, then hitting whoever is in front of you for fat damage is great, but then you're just stuck in the middle of the battlefield. Often times you're in a worser position than if you were to just hang back and shoot from a distance. Her 2 really should not break cloaking until after a set period. Run up, hit, start the 5 second timer, retreat. Her 3 always got under my skin, because it has a heavy arc, so you aim it up, but it's so slow moving. And the fact if it touches anything on it's way, it just pops immediately, and it doesn't seem to arc between enemies.
I finally got that fourth ult mod to make her 4 activate quicker, so I'm gonna try that one out sometime tonight.

I know they're removing Hailey's slow debuff from her 3rd but I will coom if they buff it by giving it movement speed like Viessa's.
Man thought that descendant slots were the bane for f2p but it is not. Preset load outs and different setting mods of descendants and guns are truly the bane, 100 caliber for one is expensive and for that gun/descendant alone.
