I've been having the most success with this build. Turns auric maelstroms into a cakewalk. I have no intent on running arbitrator in h40 quite yet, and am probably not going to play h40 again until next week, it's pretty tiring.
I used to swear by the accatran pump shotgun, and still think it's a fucking excellent weapon on arbitrator, but puncture dog boom is hilarious, and puncture on its own does enough boss damage to be relevant anyway. Both guns are vaguely identical in use, and bolt pistol has an extra gimmick, so it's probably better.
Yes, this is extremely top-heavy. You could afford to drop some of the toughness nodes in favor of more damage near the bottom. I personally am not missing any damage whatsoever. Most hairy situations are solved by puncture dog nade.

Auric is now its own difficulty tier.
New characters now unlock difficulties in a slightly different and more grindy way.
There's a story mode now.
The story mode is just a slight rework of some missions, played in an order that makes narrative sense. It's not particularly great.
The story mode is very easy, and can be played at any difficulty.
There is also an event modifier that is low intensity but it throws a bunch of fire specials at you.

All of the above mean that newfags and storyfags infest auric, eventfags infest auric, and because story and event missions are piss easy, quick play is ruined. Maelstroms are mostly same old however.
New class is disgusting in the hands of a good player, and a tremendous crutch for bad players in low difficulties

It brings a much-needed variety. Pretty solid job. The dog is a decently dynamic layer of mechanics, if nothing too deep. Voice line interaction is there, but feel like it doesn't integrate quite perfectly to the original cast, which probably is partly because of the Arbites having the lore-inherent charisma of a brick, and partly because Fatshark-issues. The new shotgun is genuinely one of my favourite fps shotguns in a while.

I don't get why they locked difficulty out for new players. I remember trying to play Vermintide 2 with some friends and they couldn't believe how long it takes to get power and to play the next difficulty. They found the game too easy on the normal difficulty.

I really want to primarily use the flamer on the zealot but it's annoying how fast you run out of ammo on that thing.

Daemons do not operate on base levels of power. Not all daemons are going to manifest able to completely fuck over everything. As a h40 zealot player, I view it the other way around. A good flamer zealot should be judicious about ammo usage to avoid having to hoover up literally all of it.
I still end up taking a lot of ammo, but a lot of that is teammates insisting that I do, combined with team compositions that simply don't use much ammo in the first place. The last couple runs I had with some piggies, a lot of ammo went to them, and that was also fine. Sometimes it's fine to just use it as an emergency weapon and boss kill.

Having 2 gun builds is a non-issue if one of them is a veteran. They're very ammo efficient, and the aura makes a big difference.
I've had a handful of runs with 2 flamer zealots and a veteran in old havoc, where the ammo penalty was even more brutal, and we managed. Nu havoc modifiers can be complete HP sponge cancer, but even then ammo is arguably less of a concern. Just don't bring some retarded ammo inefficient gun, and learn some trigger discipline.

I honestly like it more than the bash, even if i’m using forceful meaning no faster cooldowns, just holding onto it let’s you be very bold. Earlier someone got netted in a really shot situation and a bomber got them in fire just on the edge, I was able to pop castigators, walk through the fire and gas while battering the elites back, get them back up and pop down a shock mine so we could get control of the situation again. The bash is really good and a lot of fun but castigators is the ultimate fuck your bullshit reverse card. Combine it with forceful and you’re stupidly hard to kill

It’s like bigger revolver, a little slower but more ammo and more damage at close to mid range while still doing enough damage to kill snipers at very long range, with some utility against bosses with its special ammo. The special ammo really needs a buff though because it’s just sort of there, if it had build in man stopper cleave it would be pretty sweet. It’s a good weapon though, great cleave for blasting trappers through trash, can kill snipers with ease, does very high damage to crushers if you need to, decent burst of damage into bosses. The mk 3 is better for taking out specials at close range because you just hip fire in their general direction, and destroys gunner packs at mid range when they’re grouped up. I think both are fantastic and it’s personal preference to which you use, but the shock rounds have a bit more going for them.
