Well that was certainly interesting. The cat-EDM music, or whatever thats classified as, was unexpected. Also the orange drool during clagger was pretty funny, lol!
But question, does anybody know if this version has less health than normal AT Velkhana? I know not having to move zones will shave some seconds off a hunt but I did 8:02 on Lance when my best vanilla AT Velk Lance run was around 9:00. And I did 8:07 with non-frostcraft SnS in a sloppy run when my best WITH frostcraft against vanilla AT Velk is 7:09.

This modded version is surely missing anywhere from 10k to 15k hp right? It didn't feel normal at all. I wasn't all out sweating so I don't think a normal HP AT Velkhana would die this quickly.
Also I really like the quest name, 'Unstable Elegance' is so good!

No, definitely not. I never thought I'd download a health overlay mod but I had to just to check this because it simply didn't seem right. My suspicions are confirmed, it's missing 11k HP for whatever reason.

This arena actually made the hunt a little more vexing for me haha. My eyesight is poor and I struggle to see where the ledges in this zone are because of the lighting. The lighting also completely obscures which aura level Velkhana is in. So I actually have to pay attention to whether or not it had a normal flinch or elderseal flinch. Also Velkhana has a lot of retreating attacks where it ends up backing itself into a wall or a corner. This is a little annoying for SnS since if you backstep iframe ice-rings against a wall you'll end up hitting Velkhana's back legs rather than its head.

It's a shame there's no multi-AT Velk quest in the pack. Now that would be a real kicker haha.

I fucking hate all of you lying tards, Worlds looks god awful and looked bad for its time. It has so many issues with how they modeled the monsters, how half of the textures and materials don't work properly, how every single part of the game looks like a jagged mess. It's by far the least visually appealing MH game. Wilds is a technical mess, but in the context of the game running without issues it wipes the floor with World's visuals, especially with the monsters themselves which looked like messy unsaturated barely legibale garbage in World.
I managed to get my game to stay locked 60 at 1440p with everything on the highest setting and playing World directly after Wilds makes me eyes hurt with how bad the materials and monsters look in World. Not to mention fucking slap on weapons.

World was graphically a huge leap coming from the 3DS games. You can notice some difference between World and Wilds but they are not as significant. The major difference is that a GPU that can run Wilds at the same fps/resolution as World on release costs as much as a whole rig in 2018.

It's all the difference, World monsters have extremely ass blurry textures especially for the time and they don't interact with any part of the enviroment making them look like ass in light, the enviroments render properly instead of being filled with constant transparency issues, the game doesn't look like a jagged mess. My world screenshot is slightly crop to fit the 4mb limit but you can clearly see just how much better everything looks, especially the body and textures on rey dau, and I don't use the high rest pack in neither of the games.

Focus attacks should just be high commitment attacks that do a really good thing for your weapon. We already see what this like for the weapons with gauges:

I haven't carted in low rank since my very first P3RD playthrough, I've beaten all high rank hunts first try since 4, no exception. I also have never seem a streamer cart in low rank to any of the games either, and I don't know any casual normie that killed the tempered hunts first try or found them easily, most of the attempts are filled with rage moments.

MH difficulty has been purely about friction since 3rd gen, you don't die or fail in these games anymore and it hasn't been the case in more than a decade, you just have an easier or slightly harder time. The only hunts that have been actually difficult since 2nd gen were Sunbreak's hazard risen runs which are definetly close to Frontier levels, but that's 5 quests in 18 years.

I've never been as confused by the reception for a game as Wilds. I think it's unironically harder than Iceborne and harder than Sunbreak if you don't count anomalies (if you do it's the hardest out of the 3). Tried Zoh Shia all day today and couldn't really even get to phase 3 but things like Fatalis and Alatreon never took me more than 5 attempts to kill the first time.

Seikret wirefall has a long cooldown so players need to think about when to use it instead of just spamming it.
Either get rid of dodge on Seikret entirely or have it happen once with a long cd and if Seikret gets hit, it runs away and is unusable in its entirety for a while.
Make Seikret gliding actually useful with more hidden areas or good traversal options possible with glide.
Autopathing should be a thing only after World-style track sniffing where your Seikret picks up the scent instead of something that happens immediately. Honestly, pathing to waypoints shouldn't be a thing anyway. Having waypoints at all is plenty.

Unironically did a lot of research after I noticed that my buddy who's a MH noob died way less than me in Wilds. I started watching streams and videos and I came to a conclusion.

Wilds is easier for less experimented noobs that play really safe, and its harder for longtime players who play really greedy because they think they can react to everything the monster does.

Wilds's combat is designed towards playing safe. You get rewarded for taking it slow and guarding and countering attacks until wounds appear and then you can land easy high damage attacks, and you can just keep doing that until you win. Greedy players who try to constantly attack during the monster's moves will end up getting slapped around by Wilds monsters having micro tracking and generally faster attacks than high rank World and Rise. This is what my experience was. I generally play MH games really greedy and constantly try and get in attacks, even when monsters are constantly doing combos in rage mode, and in World and Rise that gameplay is encouraged and I had a really easy time with both games. In Wilds that gameplay style is discouraged and leaves you more open to be caught off guard by the monster, especially with so many monsters having multi hit attacks in Wilds.

I very recently tried playing super safe with charge blade, constantly guarding and not trying to be stylish, and I barely get hit and kill the monster without much difficulty or "oh shit" moments.

And this explains why the game's difficulty discussion is so retarded, because new players and noobs who cower behind their shields and counters will unironically have an easier time with Wilds than vets/experienced players who think they'll just dodge everything while attacking and be fine.

Recently found out that there is an entry in the MH series called "Outlanders" that is a hero shooter slop game.

I genuinely don't care that much about monster quantity for TUs. They can do that for the G rank expac. I just one or two big endgame siege monsters to grind endgame mats with other players and a bunch of new quest types that actually lean into the vision Wilds promised.

I want to work towards things with intention. Artian shit sucks because most of that time is spent rerolling and restarting the game rather than fighting monsters or collecting stuff in the maps. I want ways to build on stuff rather then just RNG for a new thing. I want to have an incentive for hunting random shit that spawns in for an hour or two with friends in environment link.

Did you know that grabbing a wyvern egg in the forest causes a Rathian to spawn and aggro only on the player holding the egg? You can't ride the Seikret, so it's actually fun to run, slide, jump, and waddle away from an enraged Rathian all the way back to camp.

I imagine players who are brand new and playing monhun for the first time with Wilds don't even know egg heavy object transport is a thing. The game never asks you to do it. There are no quests for it. The reward for doing it is the points equivalent to like two part breaks.

I did. It looks fine when I watch it back with HDR enabled, but if I watch the recording with HDR disabled it looks terrible so that's probably how it looks to everyone else who doesn't have it.

Wilds is best for casual players but you've got to have the hardware for it. Rise looks bad and is a boss rush game so less inviting. World is good but you have to separately discover monsters and watch a cutscene before you can hunt together.
