I have been playing the game for over a week now on both PC and mobile. I am not F2P as I paid $200 for my first deck. Initially, the economy seems to be very bad (500 gold pack price, lower vial from liquefying silvers, and, critically, no liquefy first 3 copies). I thought it would sucks so bad as a F2P player or a low-spender. One week ahead, I changed my mind. The economy is fine and I can enjoy many good decks. In my current opinion, the only thing that need change is the no liquefy first 3 copies rule.
I am not the luckiest player (no 100 packs key jackpot) and neither I do any reroll. Just straight up normal player that buys all crystal package, plus battle pass. Currently, I have 2 top tier, pretty much fully upgraded decks (puppet portalcraft and artifact portalcraft, 3 if you include hybrid). I also have enough vials from extra cards to upgrade my half-baked decks into good viability (ramp dragon, midrange sword, aggro abyss). The only classes where I don't have enough resources to even make half-baked decks are runecraft and havencraft, in which both have very expensive top tier decks (I am absolutely fine with this, F2P players and low-spenders aren't supposed to have everything). Finally, I have around 7000 gold that I save for next expansion (that is still growing everyday) as I am satisfied enough with my current collection.
So far so good. I am having a blast with this game and I have variety of viable decks. So, what happens that suddenly change my mind and my perspective on the economy? It turns out that the economy is REALLY supported by the freebies that Cygames give (Daily packs, park keys, events, events, events (many of them), bonus packs from here and there, and recently, 3 free legendary packs). So, as long as Cygames keep pumping up these freebies, I think the economy is going to be fine.
As much as I hate the no liquefy first 3 copies rule (and expensive cosmetics lol), I can't give the game negative review anymore.

Honestly Iโm just having a lot of fun with this game and wanted to post something positive about it after seeing all the negative reviews.
Iโll freely admit that Iโm not a FTP player, but I havenโt spent a ton (only $200) and Iโm really enjoying the fast-paced experience and play styles so far.
Iโve never played the original Shadowverse so Iโm not doing a direct comparison here. I will say however that compared to the CCGs/TCGs Iโm used to (Hearthstone, MTG including physical) the cost here really doesnโt seem out of line from what Iโm accustomed to with this genre. Again, not comparing to the original, just the experience of a totally new player.
I was going to wait longer to write a post like this so I could speak with more gameplay experience, but I have a few decks built with reasonable success and am having a ton of fun, and because I almost didnโt start this game because of some of the negative posts I wanted to write from my experience to encourage other new players to try it out!

After spliting it, they realized some cards were going to be bad without the rest of it's support( like dirt rune) so they wanted to at least make sure some cards could be used in both decks. 3 PP for a 4 HP heal didn't seem that broken I'm guessing, but when you are playing a stall deck, it kind of is. It spellboosts too, so that's fair. Had a feeling you needed to blow some earth sigils for it originally, like earth rite 1 heal 4.
I still kind of hope they change it, so spellboost has a bigger chink in their armor. It's actually really pissing me off there's cards meant for specific decks being abused by others. Yes, I am an a huge puppets and dirt rune fan. Pure puppets is powerful, but it gets stupid when you have artifacts thrown in there. Likewise, you have a dirt rune card that probably had an effect changed or added that spellboost uses to be even more turbo cancer....

Generally what's the right play when it's unclear if the enemy has lethal next turn but if you play around that you also delay your lethal one turn as well?
Easy example is whether or not they have a second Orchis for follow up to the first one.
You can clear the Orchis and setup lethal next turn but a second Orchis would kill you.
On the other hand you could heal out of lethal but this delays your own lethal by at least a turn.
I guess the question is whether to prioritize aiming for a win next turn or preventing a potential loss even though the odds (according to cards drawn) imply its unlikely.
I've had mixed success with both approaches.

Rune > Portal > Sword > Rune, but sword COMPLETELY ANNIHILATES all other matchups in the game, it's insane to me how hard sword players love to downplay their decks because it doesn't have the high roll potential that rune or portal have when in reality it has by far the best matchup spread in the game.
