Honestly, the hardest matchup I feel is the sword matchup. You can't really beat them on board before the later turns unless they brick, or are one of the retards posting on here where they're getting lethaled but have 3 evos left. Amelia + mage combo is really hard to deal with without orchis. Amalia is just really awkward to deal with if you don't have bullet in hand in general, and even more so when super evolved. Albert can just lethal you from 12 if you get chipped too much from losing board early. DESU I don't know what other deck plays as well into Artifact Portal as Sword.

A mistake a lot of players make is that they'll misuse evo points. They'll hoard their evo points so that they can spend them on their flashy cards, or they'll waste the evo point to just squeeze 2 or 3 more damage to the face*. In broad general terms you want to try to assume control of the board by killing most if not all of the opponent's followers. If you can accomplish that goal without spending an evo point, then great. If you need to spend an evo point to clean up their board, then it's often worth it.
*Aggressive aggro decks are a bit of an exception. They are generally quite happy with evoing to squeeze and extra 2-3 points through to face since that can be the difference between winning and the opponent stabilizing in time.
