The curse struck her squarely in the chest—Voldemort’s voice a low snarl of command behind it.

Luna blinked. Tilted her head.
“Was that it?”
Voldemort’s face twisted. He flicked his wand again, snarling the word louder: "Imperio!"
The room filled with its strange, shimmering weight—and again, nothing. Luna remained perfectly still, perfectly herself, blinking slowly as if considering the absurdity of it all.
"You’re really not good at that, are you?" she said softly. “Did Barty Junior never tell you?”
Voldemort didn’t answer—his nostrils flared, his wand hand tense.
“He tried that once,” she said, taking a step forward. “Back when he was pretending to be Mad-Eye. It didn’t work then, either.”
She smiled faintly. “He probably didn’t want to tell you. I expect you’d have hexed his arse into soup.”
A pause. And then:
“Maybe it’s just me,” she said gently, “or maybe I’m too cracked already for you to crawl into. Either way—go fuck yourself.”
Voldemort’s fury boiled visibly beneath his skin.
And somewhere behind them, Dumbledore’s voice cut through the heat like thunder.
