Chinese players ruined Turtle Wow.
Prior to the Chinese invasion, Turtle Wow was a comfy little passion project built by people who love vanilla Wow and its lore. But once the Chinese money started flowing in, Torta got greedy. A lot of the original staff either quit or were fired as they bought a brand new dev team whose sole purpose was to crank out "content" (by the way, I hate the term "content" as it is a completely soulless corporate term cooked up by Google to strip any artistic merit from any artistic work). In a way I suppose you can say the server improved because we got a brand new endgame raid. But it was at the cost of its soul.
The biggest example of this is the guild base system. Before players could leave a lasting mark on the server and become a part of its lore by creating a guild base. But once the Chinese flooded the servers, they realized they'd get way too many requests than they could handle, so the system was just scrapped entirely, replaced with a soulless second hearthstone. Imagine how wild it would be if FMC got a proper guild base. Alas, it wasn't to be.
Any vestige of charm still left on the server is a remnant of the past. Something someone with a fire in their heart created for free because "wouldn't it be cool if it existed?" Sad that the server died in the most important way before so many of you even experienced it.
Well, here's hoping Epoch is a return to what made Turtle Wow so fun to play on.

Duskhaven was one man's autistic passion project.
Not saying Epoch will "dethrone" Turtle. Fairly certain Turtle will survive as it always has. But if I had to guess I'd say Epoch will at least provide a decent alternative if they don't fuck it up. Turtle has thrived largely because there's nowhere else to play. No other game in town really. With competition things might change but Epoch has an uphill battle ahead and we'll see how it survives if it survives.

>>529571665You would need to be quite overlevelled to the point it wouldn't really be worth it, SFK specifically would be very tough with the silence mobs, undead (immune to fear) and spell immune mobs.
Drain tank works very well against 2-3 mobs, you can fear one forever, void tank another and draintank the last but if you lose control or pull more than that you have zero options to recover.
Extremely solid levelling spec though, you really have no down time if you remember that your health and mana are entirely interchangeable, it's a fun way to play!

I never used any addons for it, maybe for raiding where you think less but for levelling I liked to have control over what spells I used exactly. Typically you'll just use CoA, Corruption and Siphon Life on your main target and depending on the level and your own DPS you can put one or two DoTs on the voidwalker's target but you will have to feel that out as you level as it changes. Also Succ and Felhound do more DPS but tank less, at certain level ranges this is a worthwhile trade-off because your voidwalker will be incapable of holding threat anyway.
Favourite part of Warlock for me was fear juggling, using CoR will cancel the fear effect but not dispel the fear itself, so you can toggle CoR on a target to keep it running towards you then around in fear, good in dungeons if you want to fear a target but keep it from running into another mob.
But yeah no addons, a couple of macros to tell a pet to attack combined with a cast and that's it really.

I present my Epoch levelling spec, 5 points in shadow first, then disc then the rest in holy for optimal dungeon healing and PvP pocketing.
I rarely see Lightwell used and Guardian Spirit is a nice thing but 90% of the time I feel like it's a wipe anyway and you just get to watch for 15 seconds.
I would really really like to do a healing discipline build because PI, PS and PW:Barrier are a lot more interesting to me but I don't really know how attractive that is in raids, sounds like a 'There's one of these specs per raid sometimes' builds, so probably an OS rather than my main healing spec?
Will warrior with no weapon be viable on the pochi? I hate weapon micromanaging.

People generally avoid warlock because in raids you are basically just applying your chosen curse and spamming shadowbolt but with Turtle there's a higher debuff limit so you can actually do more things and Demonology is now like a summoner build where you use your mega demons like cooldowns to burn stuff down, it looked pretty cool but I never tried it personally, I heard it's a little too busy.
Warlocks never really shook off the shadowbolt turret stigma though, I imagine it's mostly that keeping the pop low.
